Up to a certain degree, that is correct because obviously some people are able to consent aged 16 or maybe even 14, but others are not until 20 PR older.

Calling sex with a 9 year old rape is not just a social construct, though. It would be hard to conceive it in a different way (even if the circumstances were different).

I saw a documentary on Liberia the other day and the women were saying the UN guys were sexually abusing them. Not surprising, really. They bring in guys from all over the world, including from places with legit rape cultures. These women live halfway around the world, in squalor...who will care, right?

I saw that story about the 9 y.o. on Facebook last night and was really fucking angry. I was gunna post the story here on Sherdog but I was too disgusted. I knew I wouldn't be able to post anything rational and unemotional. I still can't, really. It just makes me so sad and angry at the same time. That poor kid, I can't imagine how horrible that must have been. Breaks my fucking heart. At the same time, I have extreme anger over the rapists. I truly want them to be tortured slowly for a very long time. I'm not "better than that." I hope they don't get put into protective custody. They need to be put into general population. They were Native Americans, I think. Throw them in with the Aryan Nation and tell them the victim was white. Hopefully they will have a very, very bad stay. And then hopefully when they get out of prison as old men, karma follows them and very bad things continually happen to them. Like, some people know about their crimes and visit them to let them know that they know.

I am not ashamed to admit I thought quite a bit about the different ways I'd like to see them suffer after reading that story.

I hate that this occurs and I would do just about anything in my power to stop sex crimes against children.

With that said I sometimes wish that if this was going to happen it would happen at the same time I'm walking past. I would die in a second to protect a little kid from this abuse and I would die trying to kill the person responsible
