Joanna was Joanna Jones in that fight and eye poked a lot, not giving a f*ck and keeping her fingers very close to Claudia's face. i wonder if the judges could have taken points from her.

Who you got in the rematch ? you think what Claudia showed in the first time is enough to win it ? I scored it the first rd to JJ, second was very close but JJ, last one Claudia. I see some people saying Claudia won, what you guys think, she did ? or JJ is the best out of the two ?

I don't care about any of that, cos I'm picking the Champ in the Rematch

Claudia won the first time - I'll pick her again.

Joanna because Nova Uniao is like 2-11 outside of Brazil since USADA has been implemented, Joanna could even finish her.

Why is fighting outside of Brazil so relevant? Do you not have like a bunch of guys getting caught in USA, Australia, Canada, etc...???

This constant Brazil slam should get people banned or atleast yellow cards. It's getting ridiculous.

They have a dodgy commission and they seem to fill out a lot quicker over there after weigh ins.

Claudia won that fight. No doubt about it. Joanna has looked like an entirely different animal since that fight, so who knows what will happen in the rematch.

I thought JJ won the first fight,

I also think she has improved her wrestling enough that Claudia won't have much success in the second fight and be forced to stand where JJ will pick her apart and eventually catch her in rounds 4 or 5.

Claudia being a member of a camp that has posted less than impressive results recently is another reason I feel we will see a different fight this time around.

for some reason MMA fans seem think Claudia's late punch (a very common event in combat sports) was 'disgusting' and it's only 'sexist hypocrisy' that saved her from being cut because she is 'just like Paul Daley', but whenever Joanna's nasty and deliberate eye gouging (which is much worse than a late punch) is brought up they either (i) ignore it or (ii) say 'umm...errr... I don't think it was intentional' .

I guess if Joanna comes off badly on this season of TUF then the sheep-herd will turn against her and ppl might start talking about it more.

Yes, she was blatantly eye poking. Judges should have taken points.

I thought Joanna was the superior fighter but Claudia of course was the superior wrestler and held her against the cage most of the point, based on points I think Claudia won, but I felt Joanna was the better fighter and will be rooting for her in the rematch.

Isn't that the point? People sometimes get caught for PEDs in places like Canada. That would provide a disincentive to use PEDs in a Canadian event.

By the way, I make no argument that Brazilians use PEDs more than other nationalities. However, Nova Uniao as a gym seems pretty suspect, given the public pro PED attitude of some of the coaches.

Damn, Joanna going all Palhares on Claudia. I remember watching those fights, but somehow I missed what seems like blatant and intentional eye-gouging. Has Claudia said anything about it in interviews?

Joanna dominated striking exchanges, Claudia got tired of trying many takedowns and that was a problem too. If joanna comes in with better TDD it can go her way, if claudia comes win with better striking...same thing.

JJ won and will again since Claudia isn't built like Sherk anymore.

Claudia did very little with her control and JJ smacked her up when playing the striking game. The only thing unusual about that fight is that the judges somehow picked the correct person to win and you can't even blame champion bias.

those two girls are so far ahead of everybody else in the division, it's not even funny.
