With the UFC 221 card and bout order being officially set, what do you guys think of this card? Man. With UFC 220 and 221 kicking off 2018, two absolutely terrible PPV cards with awesome Main Events. I truly hope this isn't the precedent the UFC sets going forward. With these two cards they're leaning more towards a traditional boxing type PPV card, going very top heavy with a good Main Event with not much else surrounding it. I really dislike this format. Bad card throughout. Not something I'm willing to spend 50 dollars on. The matchups are good and I even like some of the prelims like Wilkinson-Adesanya, Kennedy-Volkanovski and Formiga-Nguyen which may be for a title shot (Why is it so low down on the card?) but just no depth on this what so ever.

If I had to rate this card out of 10, it's a 4 on a PPV scale. And I consider that generous. Really bad card. What do you guys think?

From a PPV standpoint, I'd give it a 3-4/10 honestly.

3/10. Blaydes isn’t proven enough to anchor a PPV co headline spot so that leaves the main event as the ONLY fight worth paying for.

It's shocking the disparity in quality from the top 2 fights on 220 and top fight on 221, and the rest of the cards.

And the only thing worse is the lack of promotion by the UFC.

3/10 for me.

A co main event that should start the main card, and Formiga vs Nyguen excites me somewhat, but the main event is what everyone will be watching.

They're starting to gravitate towards the boxing model stacking these cards with one, maybe two fights worth paying for, and leaving the rest as good fights but not worth ppving. Look at 220, I'm psyched and going to that card, but it's very front loaded with the two title fights. After that, it doesn't hold water.

3/10 is being nice, this is going to be a tough card to pay for. I am thrilled bobby knuckles is getting a defense but that's it.

2/10

Rockhold via sub

Doubt it will do over 250k unless the figure is from fake new meltzer

i give 2 point for each main card fight i want to see so if i want to see all 5 fights id rate the card a 10/10.. with that being said i rate this sht card a 4/10 andd thats a tentative 4 because i dont think hunt should be fighting anymore but oh well.

I really hope this boxing model isn't the trend going forward. Even PPV events throughout is part of the reason why I grew to love MMA. I hope buyrate on 220 and 221 reflects poorly and they go back to the original method.

"5 great fights"

They've been doing this for years though so we should be used to it

Prelims are 3/10
Main card is 3/10, adjusted to 2/10 because they want you to pay $60 for that shit.

The freaking free Winnipeg Fox card had more going for it than this.

For a PPV 2/10

For a fight night 6/10

For a fightpass card 8/10

Anyone paying $60 is either rich, stupid or both.

It shouldn't be if wme give a crap about the future of the ufc in 10 years time

They are just following on from zuffa but there plan was to sell up by 2017 and make $
They didn't care about anything else

The moves they have been making lately are absolutely puzzling.

As i said before

Clueless casuals

Do you think lorenzo/zuffa would be in the current predicament that wme are in with conor?

No way

Conor would have defended his belt by now or he would have never fought floyd

We don't know what wme made from the floyd/conor fight but they could have made $ either way and built up stars using conor name

Next biggest fight for conor was GSP
that would have done 1m+
Khabib/Ferg - a win over conor helps their careers and builds them up as conor fade
