The strongest thing about Invicta, which is consistent across all their shows, is the pacing. When I watch Invicta I spend most of my time watching people fight. I can't even come close to saying that about any other promotion I follow. Aside from that, the fights were generally good, I was pleasantly surprised by the skill level after losing most of their best fighters to TUF, and there were some great finishes.

I think miles is talking about a certain Janet Martin. Late last year it all got exposed. Here's a thread they talk about it on Sherdog:

I actually liked that fight. What exactly sucked about it? It was way better than I expected. I think you are suffering from confirmation bias.
I give the card an 8/10 very good.

Great card, good matchups all around, barring the main event. Tamada was just overwhelmed. Maybe we'll get one of the two dream matchups for Michelle's next defense.

Jodie vs Frey - 4
Some good moments but a lot of feet shuffling.
Grasso vs Cummings - 4
I don't remember anything specific from this fight, but I don't remember disliking it.
Irene vs Morgan - 6
Irene looked good. Noteworthy performence.
Tweet vs Verocnica - 3
Person I suspected was supbar turned out to perform awfully. Still nice to see a finish.
Bennet vs Ould - 7
Impressive performence from Bennet in dispatching Ould.
Roxanne vs LaRosa - 3,5
Past their primers duking it out. Roxanne looked better than I thought she would.
Evinger vs Gomes - 7
Cool to see Evinger dispatch someone I thought she would have trouble with.
Katja vs Egging 9
Splendid fight. Back-and-forth, varid, rare submission and a comeback ending.
Waterson vs Tamada 6.5
Watson looked very cool but it was she vs a punching bag.
Score 50
50 divided in 9 = rounds out to 5.5555555555
The pacing was, as always, nearly superb.

8.5/10 -.5 for death of stream, -1 for tara larosa. great card.

Solid card, 8 or 8.5 out of 10 for reasons already mentioned in the thread.
At one point Julie Kedzie and Shayna Baszler were talking about the matchups with that bearded fellow whose name I can't remember right now, and there was quiet, soft jazz piano music playing in the background. That detail stuck with me as particularly awesome--a pleasant departure from the screamy, metal junk the UFC plays over their promos.

Watched the event live and cancelled the FP subscription.
My rate is 8.5/10, could had been a 9 or 9.5 with a more competitive main event ... and really I was a doubter about the matchmaking of this last event, but seems Invicta FC always delivers.
My thoughts:
- In a stacked division like the SW, that despite TUF 20 it always has a great amount of unhearded talents, I think Owen and Aldrich don't have the tools to be contenders in few bouts, they need to develop a lot, especially Owen that I think she relies too much on her grappling.
- I expected Jinh Yu Frey to disappoint, she was too much hyped for just a KO, but really not to lose that bout ... btw Esquibel is now 2-1 in Invicta and I can c an AW gatekeeper in her: beat her and u can face Waterson.
- From the hottest prospect in SW now Cummins is 0-3 in Invicta, but sure was a stiff test for Grasso and the debut of a 21yo fighter. Cummins needs oxygen and a step back facing someone like Delaney Owen, Grasso didn't impressed me and needs another up and comer like Aldrich.
- Aldana threw trains and trucks to Morgan face, should fight someone that can test her on the ground ... and with a vacant belt she did the right thing last night.
Morgan should try to move up to FW, BWs are too fast for her.
- Rothenhausler disappointed badly in a way that seemed she's just a big right hand and nothing more ... the fight sucked too.
- Bennett and those body shots ... ouch!! Honchak reign is in danger.
- Is a rebirth for Evinger, and a bad fall for India ... Evinger should be one of the 2 contenders for the vacant belt.
