It was all for promotion and it worked as it did a million buys, for a fight that wasnt even for a title.
It was also the last time casuals gave a shit about TUF pretty much.

Rashad was such an ass back then. He had no fan support for a reason.. People used to ask him to sign the "Shad Face" he made when Machida KO'd him. That's the only way they wanted his signature..

Rashad Was so unbelievably unlikable and fake on that show. He literally weeks earlier had gotten destroyed in a championship fight by Machida. And he strutted around that set like he was 50-0 with 50 knockouts.

Then unfortunately the fight was utter garbage. He basically humped Rampage leg for 15 minutes. Outside of like two punches.

I may be in the minority, but I thoroughly enjoyed their fight as well. It was one of the best examples of fight strategy that I have seen even to this day. Rashad mixed his wrestling with his striking so fluidly. Right off the bat with the fake shot to the punch that stunned Rampage to the end -- Rampage didn't give up either -- he had a decent moment in 3rd, but Evans hustled him. I had predicted Rampage to win and remember being so impressed with Evans.

Fight was alright. Both guys got rocked and we saw some high level MMA from Rashad.

It's just that the build up was so crazy that anything other than a war or a brutal KO would be dissapointing.

Of course not.. But I could use a little bit of humility when you show up to TUF about 4 weeks after this happened..

Even with a fight to sell with Rampage, Rashad's TUF Antics were too much for me..

Rampage had a lot of great rivalries in his career, and I thought this would be another one. Possibly a trilogy. But sadly both careers had very little left in the tank after their very boring grudge match fight. 2 more wins for Rashad against Tito, and Davis. Then came the Jones loss that took the desire out of Rashad's career.. He has admitted he never really got over it..

Funny enough for Rampage it was the same.. 2 more wins against Machida, and Hamill and then comes the Jones title fight. Loses badly, and that was it for Rampage.. Went south.. I wish we got a little more near peak Rampage, and Rashad for 1 more fight...

If they did what Rashad said "I will beat you at your game" and then the fight would of been amazing but Rampage would of won by that. Rashad was smart and didn't want to bang. He won the fight so that is all that matters.

It was a good season, very entertaining. They had some woeful fights on there though, the first fight between McSweeney and that NFL reject was woeful. I can't believe the same McSweeney was able to beat Mitrione.
