Rarest MMA DVDs you have

I don't have anything rare, but they are all dear to my heart. All of Pride, a bunch of UFC, and some KOTC,IVC,IFC,GladiatorChallenge,
WEF mixed in is about it. It was like a holiday though whenever I found a PRIDE dvd that I hadn't seen( Got into PRIDE in 02') . I would search Suncoast Video mostly. First PRIDE dvd I ever bought was PRIDE 10, shit was great

I have a bunch of superbrawl DVDs.

I had to be one of the only idiots who was dumb enough and high enough to give my credit card info for that shady ass shit from an infomercial on cable TV in the middle of the night.

It was damn near impossible to cancel too. I had to cancel the credit card because there was no way to contact those assholes to cancel.

Oh yeah! :)
Now they are awesome!! Nice score. They'd have to be worth a bit by now. I'd expect they would be close to $100 each, that's if you can even find them. Thanks for sharing.

I've always wanted Colosseum 2000 on DVD. Have got the poster of it though (think I have 2 of them?).

Man, you're missing out. DVDs are 1 thing, but anyone can get them or view on the net. The programs are much for collectables, especially if you can get them signed by fighters on the card. They do get expensive ( the postage adds to the cost, too). I paid around $50 - $100 for each Pride one. Here's a pic of the Pride ones I have, minus pride 22, which I have:

Have heaps of k-1 & ufc as well as KOTC, Karate 1994 event, Elite XC, Heros,Dream, Glory & other random ones. A k-1 I have even has a page of cards, which you can cut out.
Thats really cool, I bet the contents of those things are pretty awesome to an old head fight fan. Are you finding these on eBay?

Totally understand. Any new purchase at that time was like Christmas come early. I just could not wait to watch back in the day when it was so tough to even come by. Remember telling people at work about MMA & had to explain what it is. Glad it's more accessible these days & people are more aware of it. Pride just got even better after Pride 8 I think.

If I had the equipment to transfer VHS to DVD, I'd rip 'em & send to ya. You can probably watch a lot of individual fights on youtube. They called Cro Cop "The Croation Tiger" to start with in K-1. Funny shit.
i was going to say man, if you could somehow rip those, that would be amazing, if anything for the posterity and historical records. dope collection, i will check out me some cro cop!!!!!!!! PRIDE NEVER DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just remembered I have the DVD of Astra that I found in Osaka. I assume it's pretty rare because it doesn't come up on eBay.

I also wish I'd picked up a Shinya Aoki instructional set I saw in a martial arts shop in Kyoto.

Happy to hear you had access and got some good DVDs, but sad to hear about the problems you had to go through in order to obtain.

When I was young, we had only 2 TV channels to watch & no internet. Could only by US Karate mags at the news agency & had to send a money order to places, which I never bothered doing.

I had so many grappling and fight sport magazines back in the day but stupid young me binned them when moving house.

Also do you remember this images (8).jpeg (not my photo as all my shit is in boxs) I also have the Smashing machine and Rickson Gracie Choke DVD

Hey mate,

Send me an email can you please & that will be something to remind me to I'll follow up? I don't know how to convert from VHS to DVD, but do have an all region vhs player & would be interested in trying to do it.

Cheers!

Honestly I have like 40 pride, ufc,and old king of the cage.
Hespect Bro. That's a lot of great entertainment you invested in. Old KOTC had some good fighters that went on to be bigger names (rampage as example). The Wet & Wild event was bizarre with them slipping around the mat on the outdoor event in the rain. Bad idea, but looked funny at the time. Like fighting going down a water slide.

I've never heard of Astra over the years, so that would be very rare indeed. Can't even find much about it. You picked a winner my friend, good work. You got a pick of the cover at all?

Aoki would be a great instructional, since he was a submission specialist from what I've seen of him.

I don't own rights of passage, as a mate bought it before me, so just watched his copy. Thought it was really good. Since purchased Choke & Smashing Machine, which I loved, too.

I heard a year ago about a new Rickson doc. Doesn't appear it has been released & just hope it does eventuate. Looks like it will be on Netflix:

Looking forward to it if it's finally released. Rickson was a Yul Brynner looking, badass. Liked to have his head up/chin out as if to taunt the opponent. Good times.
