I was in SF earlier this week waiting for a bus. Nearby a homeless man with clear mental health issues was screaming. I thought it would be interesting to write down what he said, so as to go back later and see if I could make sense of it. His rants occurred pretty consistently in 10 second intervals about. Here is what I caught:

"Can't stay effective if you don't run away from strong women."

"Tweet tweet tweet"

"Lay me down country road"

"Together we can believe in it. All together now!"

"Big brother and big sister program is looking for mentors."

At the time I was chaperoning A field trip in the city. It was the end of the day so all the 8th graders were exhausted and sitting or even lying on the ground. So the last rant may have been a clever joke aimed at us.

Anyway, care to interpret the rest?

You could probably switch some of those phrases around and you'd be halfway to a new rap song on par with what's out nowadays.

When the five 0 asks you questions tell a lie and best believe it, tell your homies all together we believe it
We're the good guys, tell your daddy tell your mother,
We're the mentors of your sisters and your brothers.
