Its a marketing tool by the UFC and is manipulated entirely based on promoting fights, undeserved titleshots, pressure during contract negotiations or punishment when the UFC sees fit.

No way in hell that fight with Felder was a legit split and RDA has one of the toughest strength of schedules in the whole sport. Not saying that's why he's ranked that way but I don't get any RDA hate these days, lol.

Islam vs Dariush next for the titleshot is a perfect #1 contender fight between two guys that are on monster streaks in the LW division.

I would wait till UFC 269 plays out. Lets just say if Gaethje wins and Porier wins i would give Gaetje the title shot since he has already lost to Porier,but if Olievera wins next title shot to Gaethje,same for Oliviera and Chandler

I just think it's wrong to have guys coming off losses fight each other for the next title shot and both Ls also being titlefight Ls. Vettori and Costa's fight wasn't a title-shot fight neither should Chandler Gaethje be one. New contenders like Islam that's been active and putting together a long win streak off 9 fights with 3 finishes this year alone deserve the attention over them two.

But ranking Islam over dariush would not make sense dariush objectively has much better wins vs people with full camps.

Comparing different weight classes is almost like comparing different sports.

Lets make a P4P list of who's the best athlete between Usain Bolt, Lebron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Phelps and Tiger Woods...

how the hell do you compare them objectively? There's no way to compare Yan to Usman or Ngannou... There's nothing to be compared between them that can be correctly measured

Decision win over washed up Ferguson.
Dariush has decision win over Thiago Moises, which Islam finished.

Dariush also has more losses than Islam, got KOed 3 times and choked 1 time, while Islam only lost 1 time.

The only reason Dariush is still in that spot, people think Ferguson was still championship material fighter after Gaethje fight, Ferguson was already old, older than Khabib, and after taking so many damage from Gaethje at his age he is definitely finished after that. Ferguson's last win is in 2019 against Cowboy Cerrone (another very old fighter who is on a 4 fights loss streak), even retired Khabib has a win in 2020, Ferguson doesn't have.

Both Oliveira and Dariush are using Ferguson's hype, but it's not real and they didn't even finish Ferguson. Washed up Ferguson can hardly beat anyone in top 15 right now.

Those 2 wins were over #9 and #11 lw at the time he beat them. And Lol at recognizing that spilt the other cards were 50-45 and everyone else in the world gave rda all 5 rounds. On win quality he should arguably be ranked over Islam still #15 and #8 averages much lower.

Nope 9 fight win streak> 6 fight win streak. Im taking wins over Hooker, Tsarukyan and Davi Ramos over Holtzmann Tony Ferguson and CDF(split decision) also The two common opponents they have Islam has finished both while Dariush finished one.
