Ranking Batman movies

Batman
The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Batman returns
Dark Knight Rises
Batman Forever
Batman and Robin

Adam Wests Batman i cant compare. Its comedy not action

I would say that issue was strongest with Burton films were Batman was very much pushed into the background and became almost an antagonist in the villians stories. The giveaway really is how much take we get devoted to the villians origins in those films relative to Batmans.

In Nolan's films the Joker/Harvey are quite dominant in the Dark Knight but for me Batman/Bruce is clearly the lead character in the other two.
Yes, Nolan still is clearly making the focus of the film Batman/Bruce's story, you just spend a lot of time with the supporting characters who are also shaping it. Burton damn near made a Joker origin movie with Batman being the antagonist thwarting his plot lol. It's still really good though

Call me an asshole, but Batman Returns was the only one I liked

It’s one of my favorites so I’ll call you a gentleman and a scholar instead.

1. TDKR
2. TDK
3. Begins
4. Batman
5. Forever
6. Returns
7. Robin

Cool to see TDKR top out very high on some people's lists.

No matter how you felt about the film in the end, the very first scene when Batman makes his grand return was epic af. My favorite part of that scene is when the cops swarm him and Batman is just standing there like a boss, soaking in the attention, and the cops are so terrified they don't know what to do, lol.

The weird thing about TDKR hate that a lot of people have is that much of it has to do with stupid aspects of the plot or implausibility in the narrative- but if you scrutinize virtually any comic book movie, there are things that don’t add up.

To me a big aspect of that movie is the overall experience, which I thought was very good. That final chase scene with The Bat, the pod, and Tumbler was pretty damn cool.

Very little Batman screentime is also another complaint, which I myself, kind of share. I just wish the second act actually questioned the validity of the need for a Batman when the people of Gotham find out Dent went nuts and Batman took the blame. All the BS with "where is the bomb?" could have been taken out to add that stuff in.

But yeah, the final act is nuts. The big battle at the end with all those extras as cops and mercenaries; only Nolan would attempt to pull something like that off in a big Hollywood blockbuster and not use CGI, lol.

Lawl, I stopped reading your list when you have DKR as your third all time.

I like how no one has mentioned Batman vs Superman or JL

Lol

I rank those lower than Batman and Robin

1.) Batman: Mask of Phantasm
2.) Batman: Under the Red Hood
3.) The Dark Knight Rises (the only good live Batman movie)

Others are irrelevant and at best 5.5/10.

3. Forever (although it has the best soundtrack)

With ya till this. I mean Prince wrote an album for the first Tim Burton film, making it by far the best.

No love for the Bat Shark Repellant movie?

Haha I ranked it above Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. I’d at least re-watch that one and not regret it.

A porpoise makes the sacrifice play to save Batman and Robin when a torpedo is launched at them. Friggin hilarious.
