Rampage should get more love around here

Here is prime Jackson beating Wanderlei Silva

Wanderlei was years passed his prime at this point... we saw what happened when they both fought in their prime... twice.
And Wanderlei didn't need no cheap shots after the fight to show Jackson who's the alpha (also, that would have been awkward since he was dangling from the ropes)

Pride 28 and Pride Final Conflict 2003 were 2 of my favourite events, they wouldn't have been the same if Rampage wasn't getting the shit kneed out of him by Wanderlei.
The first one was good, the 2nd one was better.

Rampage did well to get the UFC belt though, it's just a shame he went insane when he had it. He should never have lost to Forrest.

Probably one of the first great mma personalities that endeared himself to the fans. Always had great fights in pride and pre 2012 in the ufc. Still out there fighting at hw at 42 I have so much respect for his career. Yes he did some crazy and bad things in traffic and probably inappropriately made fun. Of Asian culture by todays standards, however the guy is still hilarious to me. If you were to rank him all time lhw he has to be top 5 or close.

All I have to say is rampage wandy and shogun got me into mma. And dang it's been 15 years or something

Also forgot to mention smashing machine. Sorry kinda of topic but those are the memories for me in a spot I love.

Rampage was an elite fighter for sure, but you can't deny how lucky he's been to land on the right side of every split decisions he's been part of.
Ninja Rua
Murilo Bustamante
Ryoto Machida
Matt Lindland
Satoshi Ishii
He's had 5 splits, and got them all.
And, IMHO, he either should have lost them (like the Lindland one, textbook draw, and since Matt was a full weight class lighter than Jackson, he should have gotten the nod), or got some draws.

Lots of people see that he has victory over all these people on fight finder, and don't even bother to watch the damn fights before making their little rankings.

Even some of his best finishes have some * next to them, like when he got flash KO'd by Arona, and despite the Brazilian complains, the ref didn't do shit, until the slam/headbutt combo. Arona has an excuse for every single on of his losses, so I usually don't pay much attention to his whining, but Jackson did have Ricardo's teeth mark on his forehead, and it's pretty obvious anyway when you watch the replay.

Props to Rampage for beating French kickboxer Cyril Abidi twice in K1; Abidi wasn't a world class elite kickboxer, but he used to only lose to the elite. So Rampage beating him the first time was kind of a big deal.
He also had some great wins without any * in MMA, against Igor, prime Hendo [close fight though], prime Randleman, prime Chuck x2, Fabio Maldonado, slightly-out-of-prime King Mo (that was "post-Newton beat-downs" King Mo but still), prime Minowaman, and even completely washed up Wanderlei Silva.

Now that they're 2-2, we need a fifth bout to settle the score; and if anyone deserves to win a Quintology, it's Rampage <28>

Please God no. Big fan of both but they're both embarrassing themselves at this point in their careers.

Most new fans don't even know the real Rampage.

The guy has been on a slow but steady decline since like 2010.

Lol DC is not close to a top 5 ATG at LHW, he's got 7 career LHW wins in 9 fights... 9 total fights

DC is a weird case since he is clearly excellent skill wise, but split his time between LHW and HW, and as a result, has sort of mediocre resumes in both.

He's a great fighter, no doubt, but he's not close to top 5 resume wise, which is what matters.

Full disclosure: I just wanted to use the word Quintology (if it even is a real world) in a Quinton thread.
Wand was one of my first PRIDE idols, so his Bellator stint has left a bad taste in my mouth... well at least the Sonnen bout was years in the making, they were both way out of their primes, and Wanderlei didn't exactly risk head trauma against Chael, so I thought "let it be"...

But the 4th Rampage fight was a bad idea, no matter how I looked at it.
Wish Wand had stuck to friendly grappling bouts at RIZIN...

Talk about salty. I never said he was past his prime.

You're right he's underrated he has some pretty amazing wins. Including Chuck and Dan back to back.

Just think about that, that's crazy!

you know, I kind of agree. idk he is so hard to place in the all time great category because I know im just using his skillset over his record and imo he would beat any lhw that ever existed aside from bones. As a matter of fact I think if it were him now against jones he would have won based on the performances against reyes and santos. I think I have to agree based on accomplishment, he isnt a top 3 or maybe even a top 5. I have to reconsider his place in the pantheon of all time greats. Sometimes being the best, or 2nd best in his case, doesnt equate to best career overall.

The list of scumbag things he's done cancels out any respect you think he should be getting..Legit narcissist scumbag

I don't know who doesn't give Rampage credit around here, he seems to have always gotten a ton of credit.

Only time people have ragged on him is at times latter in his career he whines about a few things.
