Rakhmonov is 4 to 1 favorite

That’s good money on Garry, if you were forced to bet on this fight Garry would be the only way to go.

Garry could easily run and fight on the outside and win a decision. Neale made Shavkhat look human.

I’d actually favour Garry in the outside fight, but Shavkhat owns him if he can cut off the cage, also his top control and TD’s are nice.

That said, hope Shavkhat bodies him.

I can see Garry taking this is he can keep it standing. Shavkats TD aren't that strong so I think Garry has a good shot here. Standing I think its Garry's fight no doubt.

MVP was torching Garry on the feet, turned him into a panic wrestler immediately.

Garry looks good striking with guys he physically towers over or are low quality fighters. He had to point fight and dance to a split decision with Neal. He's gone to decisions with guys you've never heard of.

Shavkat is an animal and likely the more physical guy. Considering Garry had to point fight for his life to get around Neal and refused to strike at all with MVP, the striking gap is probably not that big.

IMO the odds are this way because Shavkat is going to beat the absolute shit out of Ian, who has a punchers chance.

I can kind of see it. Garry has not looked like a threat in his last two fights and clearly has the grappling disadvantage.

I feel that's a bit silly.

As the fight gets closer. Garry outpointing him seems more visible. I think Shavkat is the more agressive, capatalistic and overall dangerous fighter, but his style is volitile. If Garry stays patient and technical in the striking I can see him winning this by decision in a close fight. Probably a fight were 3 rounds are very close and the other 2 are clear Shavkat rounds.

I'll probably place a bet on Ian winning the decision if that line sticks

Rakhmonov will be chasing him down and Ian will be trying to avoid any mid range striking exchanges. I could see Garry out pointing him. A lot more ways for Rakhmonov to win tho

Shavkat's record is deceptive, 12 of his fights were in high school gymnasiums

he's 6-0 in the UFC with his best win against a washed up Karate Kid
Where does this narrative that these eastern block fighters are tearing trough cans in bingo halls? Have a look at the records of the guys he fought straight off the mark. Alot more seasoned than the bums on the local US circuit.

and he lost a fight to the same guy twice in the amateurs, 1 of which occurred after he had several professional MMA fights.

He did, but Shavkat landed a lot more big shots. Or are you implying that Shavkat doesn't throw with power?
I never said that. My original post said Neal landed some big shots (wich he did) and both guys hurt each other standing (wich they did). I don't know what pulling up the numbers was suppose to prove.

Unless you just grouped my post with other.

Just to phrase it as "soundly outland him" makes it seem less competitive than it was, it was a war really.

Garry took this fight on short notice, it's 5 rounds, and against an absolute killer in Shavkat. Will Garry throw caution to the wind and go for a KO early? He could, but I don't think he will. And if he doesn't get a finish early, he's not going to outpoint Shavkat for a decision. I'd put money on Shavkat at something like -250, but not this line. But I think he'll win via finish sometime in the second half of the fight.

I don't think Shavkat will have too much trouble in this matchup. But let's see.

Short notice for Garry has something to do with it too.

Just saw this and was surprised - Rakhmonov is a -400 favorite for his fight vs Garry, who comes back as the +300 underdog. I did not see this as such a one sided fight. I have lost few bets recently so maybe I'm off my game.

Well you don't know how good someone is if they haven't lost I reckon, you could be onto something.
