if Im being honest

He fought like bizarro superman lets be honest here Probsbly a lot to do with the raised bar in competition but whatever you want to say hes got some work ahead of him
Namely someone in his camp needs to tell him its not a good thing to get hit in the head so much. Neal landed CLEAN each round. He wasnt the man to take advantage of theae free throws but someday he wont be able to rely on this wheat plowing strategy of his. The other stuff wss ok but was certainly overshadowed by the mumber of times he got drilled but in awkward positioms too like as hes throwing.

Hes hyped

He took Neal’s best shots and still moved forward and finished him. Neal is no slouch. This fight showed me more about Shavkat. Dude’s durable and he’s got a chin. He’s trouble for WW like we all thought.

He can definitely work on some things, none of these fighters are perfect, but he's definitely not hyped. He's one of the most well rounded and complete fighters in the division. The fact he has things to work on just means he hasn't reached his ceiling, and he just beat the #6 guy convincingly. Imo that's pretty fucking good.

That said, yes, throwing a rear hand uppercut as a lead punch is very disheartening. Before you call the man all hype, let's see how he comes back from this fight and if he adjusts his decision making and defense.

Regardless being ranked at WW and a 100% finish rate don't happen by mistake.

Enjoy while it lasts that chin is about to get spun if he keeps it up. Im seeing so called 'chins' evaporating at a rapid clip lately. Time to respect the UFC. This is not the farm league anymore

Sanko Simps out in full force..

I kept saying before this that Neal is going to be a difficult fight. I don't know how you could watch the Neal/Luque fight and think otherwise. It got pretty frustrating actually the amount of people thinking that Neal was just going to be an easy fight.

People underestimated Geoff Neal and that takes credit away from Shavkat's win.

I do wish he'd work on his defense though.

hes got that yair defense of throwing kicks and punches and not keeping his hands up. every exchange is them hoping to beat the opponent to the strike and rely on pocket head movement with their hands out of position. both got chins tho thats for sure

Shavkat looked fucking awesome man. Geoff Neal is a bad bad dude look at how he annihilated Vicente luque. Neal's boxing is really really good and Shavkat still fucked his ass up and destroyed him. To say he sucked is just being edgy to try and be annoying.

He showed perseverance and durability, which is a lot. But he also showed, like Khamzat, that the raised bar indeed can make a lot of difference in how dominant a fighter can look.

Shavkat was tested by a legit fighter who KO'd Luque and outgrinded Belal.

Why do people expect these dudes to look like Superman against world class competition? Elite fighters face elite fighters. Shavkat passed the test and will learn a lot of important lessons.

I thought he looked great. Doesn't mean there is nothing to work on, but he performed well.

He was a bit reckless, but got his well deserved FOTN bonus. He could've won if he point fought from the outside like Wonderboy did a couple of years ago, but opted for the just bleed option. I mean are we shitting on just bleed guys now?

If the question is "Are we shitting on... ?" The answer is always yes, because everything gets shat on, on SD.
