Since he was a drill sergeant before, this was easily up his alley.

He was just so good, you can't keep your eyes off of him.

Holy shit, what a nostalgia trip. I’d have to go back and give it a watch, it’s been a lot of years. I always think of Willard and TCM. Just horribly misplaced I think. Willard was just a bad movie.

A necessary trait of a Senior Drill Instructor is comedic wit. It's a skill that progresses, and you can often tell how salty they are by it.

A new Hat will just smoke you without any comedic relief to offer.

The first half of the movie is what elevates it to GOAT status. The second half is good, but no better than other 'Nam movies like Platoon.

I've never served, but I suspect DI's have to be actors, to a degree. Dude basically just went out there and gave the same performance he'd given a thousand times already at boot camp.
