Which sentence is right????

"Please be advised that when we combine your accounts it will not affect your reservation"

"Please be advised that when we combine your accounts it will not effect your reservation"

Thanks guys

But to be fair I chickened out and wrote

"Please be advised that when we combine your accounts it will not impact your reservation"

... I was leaning towards effect

I have no idea what the difference is or how these words work

Affect is the act of causing a change in something.

Effect is the result of that change.

Only way I can explain it.

There’s a bit of ejumacation for ya eh?

They have horrible teeth

I will never understand how people are confused by effect and affect.

Affect is being influenced BY something.

"The drug affected his brain"

Effect is the result FROM something

"The effect of drugs is to damage the brain"

Or

The effect of drugs is that they affect.

Brake and break is another good one.

Nobody uses it as a noun. There is not a definite answer, but the consensus among English speakers is to use it as a verb
people use it as a noun all the time.

If you've a question about the English language, don't ask the English. Most of us suck at it.

Lol so true. It’s better to ask a Chinese ESL teacher. To speak it hell no, but any grammar question you’ll get the best answer.

It's infuriating. I don't mind foreigners getting it wrong, but when my fellow countrymen fuck up the basics it's so irritating.
