There was a lengthy thread on this in the heavies. Most agree it was not self defence. A few maniacs think otherwise.

While I am a lawyer I do not practice criminal law and never have. My knowledge of criminal law is limited to what they teach you in 1L. But from what little knowledge I have in the area I don’t see how the video supports facts that could even remotely come close to an argument in favour of self defence.

Sherdoggers who thinks this is a slam dunk self defense case are basically idiots(no offense) so best to ignore what they are saying. Projecting what they want to happen. Reading through the thought process of misc people over the years I've come to the conclusion there is an alarming amount of people who actually think courts have no thought process and things are black and white as if they are dealing with a basic AI program and they can win as long as they hit one of the checkmarks for a defense(tHe dUde fLiNcHeD aT sChIlLiNg!!". This is usually the same type of people getting busted by the IRS because they think depositing $9,999 is immune to any flags.
