How much trouble is Joe Schilling in?

In his Instagram, Joe said that he hit the guy because he feared for his life. But the video shows otherwise and in a way he put his hands on him first.

Who is Joe shilling?

Well regardless, that was a dick move. He literally pushed the guy out of his way, then the dude objects and Joe immediately punches. He's got no leg to stand on here.

I guess he's claiming now that the guy was yelling racial slurs and being a dick all night.

Maybe that's true and maybe it ain't, but either way, Joe, you weren't afraid for your life.

And I'm generally in favor of lenient self defense laws, but that dude never even squared up.

That just looks like a professional fighter sucker punching an average Joe. He's going to be in trouble.

There was a lengthy thread on this in the heavies. Most agree it was not self defence. A few maniacs think otherwise.

While I am a lawyer I do not practice criminal law and never have. My knowledge of criminal law is limited to what they teach you in 1L. But from what little knowledge I have in the area I don’t see how the video supports facts that could even remotely come close to an argument in favour of self defence.

The other guy's hands were down the entire time. Below the waist, never rose at all.

Schilling shoved past him, hoping for any excuse, didn't get anything except a verbal objection, and decided to cheap shot him anyway.

Not a lawyer so take this for what it's worth. No way in hell that video supports a self defense narrative and the meme he posted with it on IG supports he knew it wasn't either.

Sherdoggers who thinks this is a slam dunk self defense case are basically idiots(no offense) so best to ignore what they are saying. Projecting what they want to happen. This reminds when the girlsdoporn lawsuit was first discussed here years ago and the amount of dumbasses with their street law degrees keep saying it was a slam dunk case for the website because they signed a contract. 5 years later the owners are in Federal prison for 20 years and or on the run for the rest of their life.

Reading through the thought process of misc people over the years I've come to the conclusion there is an alarming amount of people who actually think courts have no thought process and things are black and white as if they are dealing with a basic AI program and they can win as long as they hit one of the checkmarks for a defense(tHe dUde fLiNcHeD aT sChIlLiNg!!". This is usually the same type of people getting busted by the IRS because they think depositing $9,999 is immune to any flags.

If he is a pro fighter, is that assault with a deadly weapon? I heard a long time ago that they classify black-belts as such.

Some dude talking shit gets kod . Not self defense bit if no real damage done ........ guy learned a lesson to not run his mouth at a fighter. No need for any court.

But I'm 47 n a product of the old ways. Talk shit get hit ....... dude learns a lesson.

Lol, you don’t get to claim you feared for your life after instigating a fight, especially if you’re towering over him like he’s Joe Rogan. What a fucking joke.

the battle of the chinless.

Winner should have called Jonathan Goulet imo.

I got into it with Goulet once. We were squaring off. Then, I looked at his weird eye. Next thing I know, I'm waking up on the sidewalk. Later, I noticed $5 was missing from my wallet along with a free appetizer coupon from Chili's.
