Question about the Avengers bjj team- Hillary

The should divide the team points by the number of compeititors entered under that team.

that makes no sense. a school with one competitor can have as many points as a team with 500 competitors.

i believe team scoring should have team scoring. and individual scoring should have individual scoring. i know it sounds crazy, but i am a criminal madman.

I didn't give a lot of thought to that, maybe there should be a weighting though... you get teams which perform well, having 20-30 competitors at an event, but have no chance of making the team podium, then you have big teams with hundreds of competitors, and just by virtue of filling up all the uncommon divisions, they get loads of medals.

I don't know, i suppose i shouldn't have an opinion one way or the other cause i haven't really thought about it much but it just seems kinda like a short cut to me. If they want to "compete" with the big boys then they need to grow and build there own schools to do so.

With the exception of Gracie Barra, all the top teams are pretty much amalgamations of schools or guys who have left other schools to form competition teams.

If it's actually from the comics, then that's cooler. Plus, I can't say anything bad about Pablo. He's a super cool guy and I feel terrible about what happened with his family a while back.

Its such an obvious reference,though. Especially because of that movie. Make it a vague comic book reference or reference a non-popular super hero team. Like Justice League Detroit, The Seven Soldiers of Victory or The Omega Men. That

Everything the avengers comic is about is the fact that a group of super heroes have to come together in order to beat villains none of them were strong enough to defeat on there own.

It makes perfect since 3 big name guys came together to form a team to defeat the "foes" (Aliiance, GB, etc) that none of them were capable of defeating on there own.

IMO it is the most creative and unique name among all the major teams and fits there situation perfectly.

Mick, if you'll check the original date of even just this thread (not even the team itself), you'll see it's a couple years before the movie.

And if at the end of all that you still don't like it, well, good on you. You can have a super old school team name with traditional instructors, but I like my goofy, forward thinking professors. Each team has its own style, while your style may favor Alliance or GB, mine meshes the best with the Avengers. To each their own, but I love my coaches and my team.

what/how is the emphasis on the Avengers team style? Waht do you see as the Alliance style, GB, or the other big teams?

I remember you mentioning this in the past before about how Alliance was your anti-style (they were good at things you had a hard time defending) but these when I watch high level matches, especially at the lower belt, it is hard to tell a real difference because information is so available nowadays it seems everything has meshes together in a huge pile where it is harder to differentiate teams by their style. Can you elaborate more on this?

Oh, I know the team name predates the movie. I have no issues with any team names, I was just being obtuse. I do wish that there was a BJJ Team called Justice League Detroit. Based in Florida and made up by Brazilians. That’d be so awesome.

Exactly my thought. I wasn't aware there was really a particular style among schools anymore. The style of grappling seems to be more an individual thing rather than a group mentality.

Edit: Maybe she means teaching protocols and general learning patterns, which can differ considerably by school and tradition.
