I was listening to Rogan podcast and he always brings up celebrities who train. "Yeah Jonah Hill trains with Machado". "Yeah the emperor of Japan trains with Renzo". "Oh Kermit the frog? Yeah he's a brown belt under 10th planet".

My question is this: when celebrities join boxing or kickboxing gyms people always say that they take it easy on the celebrities and don't go full force on them.

Is it the same in BJJ gyms? Like when a guy like Matt Damon comes into roll do they take it easy on them like they do in striking gyms? Or are these celebrities legitamite black/brown belts.

Sorry if wrong forum.

A lot of them only take private lessons. Rigan Machado is pretty famous for having “celebrities-only” classes. These guys can’t risk getting hurt or getting a black eye right before or during a gig, so they can’t train like regular people. Plus I imagine they’d have a pretty big target on their back if they trained in the regular classes.

Imagine one of them celebrities who just has one of them faces you wanna slap joined your Boxing gym! You'd actuallyget to give em a slap!

Expect most likely it would often be one to one training.

Or Imagine if Justin Beiber walks in to train with you and you wanna beat him up but he lights you up. Id kill myself

Didn't know that about Kermit. Interesting.

I think most celebrities that train MMA much rather do personal sessions because normal people wouldn't resist the temptation of asking for pictures and autographs.

guy from tool stopped training with casuals cuz he said people always tried harder to kick his ass due to his name

from what i've heard, 90% of them do privates...very few mingle with lowly peasants. maybe paul walker...i think i read somewhere that he did the classes whenever he could.

Guy Ritchie came to Jordan to film a movie,he googled the top black belts, choose my cousin ,trained privately with him along with I believe a couple of his crew.

EDIT.. he didnt go to his school,,he took him and his mats(or maybe he had his own)to another city close to his film location .
Good guy this Guy,paid handsomely

Sounds like a pussy to me. Guys always try to kick my ass really hard because I’m pretty small and have a piece of funny, dark colored cloth around my waist.:p

Who are the other celebrities not mentioned that train BJJ or judo?

Saw a pic of Ashton Kutcher wearing a blue belt. Jason Statham. A couple of NFL'rs that I can't recall their names. Chuck Norris- but is he a celeb or a MA'ist??
