anyone train at koh samui? im going in a couple of weeks. gonna train at pinyo for a couple of weeks

Anybody know if Thai people are still wearing those giant buddha pendants-usually made of jade? Those things sometimes reached Flavor Flav levels of ostentatious...
 
Can anyone tell me what the best gloves to buy in bangkok is? I usually use twins or fairtex and im stopping back in bkk tomorrow (after 3 months out here!), anyone recommend a set of gloves which quality you think is better? if so an adress or anything of where to buy them?

I've never heard a bad thing about Boon sport brand, people seem to love them...

I don't know about that. From what I read in an earlier post in this thread, having an intoxicated off duty Thai policeman with a gun, in your group, may come in handy if you are looking for a certain booth to sit in after you have been out drinking all night. :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:

I've been out drinking with Thai cops a number of times, and we always had a great time. I used to buy drinks for cops on a regular basis in exchange for allowing one of my favorite bars on Soi 22 to stay open well after closing time. They'd shut down every other bar in the complex except the one that I was drinking in.
 
Anyone been to Fairtex Pattaya recently? Thinking about going there in a few weeks.

been in Thailand for about a month now. one of my trainers at True Bee let me come back to his home with him in Isaan to check it out for a few days. was a really cool experience, enjoying the friendly, laid back vibe and feel like I'm learning a lot. all I can say is I never realized the Thais drank so much! morning, afternoon, evening, a beer Chang or whiskey with soda water is always in hand. anyway, ill write some more when I have time, but so far things have been awesome.
 
Who did you go with, Charley? His girlfriend has the best massage shop at the top of the road. I got very drunk with him my last night there. The 4 hour bus ride the next day nearly killed me...

My very good friend, Bashir SomChai, is there. He leaves for the US next week. He spent nearly 17 months there...lol He is in for some depressing times when he gets back here...

Hey guys. I'm going to be in thailand for about a year training and traveling. What do you guys take down there for luggage? I was going to bring my suitcase and a backpack that doubles as my laptop bag and a day trip type bag. I was thinking of bringing my big backpackers backpack instead of the suitcase, but i got fed up with in when i took it to europe.

Assuming you aren't offroad, it's a lot easier to pull a heavy suitcase with wheels than it is to hump everything you own on your back, especially in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity.

This is a question I asked earlier but it got lost in the :eek::eek::eek::eek:phile section of this thread.

If I go to Thailand for 6 months is it better to stay at one gym or to move around to a few different gyms to get different perspectives?
 
I use a big rolling sports team bag. I really don't get the backpackers. Thai is very cheap to fly or bus around, yet they choose to walk places...
 
A warning here. Those wheels are designed for short term airport hauling, and not to travel xx KM on the sandy roads. One luggage of mine broke down because of it.

I went with Ae 2 (the one that's not Bee's brother). I know who Somchai is, I've heard he's been here a long-ass time although I haven't really spoken to him. Going back is going to suck indeed, I have several months left out here and already dread the thought of going back. You were right about Pai though man, the hippies are out of control. I'm learning to deal with it because otherwise its a really nice little town, but I've definitely had my share of WTF moments.
