Which gyms are set up in such a way where you can do some grappling training as well? doesn't have to have great instructors for the grappling, its more-so just to not get rusty while I'm training mostly standup. I'm hoping to take a trip to thailand some time within the next 2 years to develop my stand up game, just don't want to get too rusty on the grappling while I'm at it.

Serious gyms btw, I want to try to learn as much as possible while I'm there (around 3 months most likely)

i heard a dude on here a while ago he said he got certified to be a trainer while he was over there, how do you go about doing that? im guessing theres special places to go...
 
HAHAHA. Getting certified is easy. Just look like you know what you are doing, be able to talk really good like a car salesman or military recruiter and pay someone like master toddy and you can get your certification. Certification is bullshit. I'd rather train with someone that has trained some decent names or champions rather than someone who pays to be on the USMTA website.

i figured that if you had money anyone could get certified, but im talking about a quality place to acually learn how to work the pads and what not...

There really isn't a place you can get a paper that says, "John Doe is proficient at holding pads." It comes with time and practice. When you can catch whatever is thrown at you without calling it out, you know you are on top of your game.
 
I spent 2 months in Thailand this summer and didn't train or think about BJJ at all. I came back and rolled better than before I left. You won't get rusty...

legacy gym in ubon ratchathani has MMA now on top of there usual muay thai.
was a good muay thai camp before and probably still is.

Oh, actually Payak, the question was directed to you since most here are not able to answer. When, or planning a street fight, do Thais think of their religion, aska Buddhism and Karmma?
 
Bro, if you do enough to piss off a sober Thai, you are an ass to start with. Thai by nature are very accommodating. You really have to push them to make them mad enough to fight you. If you do push them that far, good luck calming them down.

Drunk Thai's are a different story. Both Thai men and women can get very aggressive when they drink. It is generally not a good idea to go drinking with a bunch of Thai men unless you know them very well. Never go drinking with Thai cops....
