Q&A on Thailand

I got eight stitches to my eye brow and temple just for standing there, in a regular disco in Rawai Phuket (nice and quiet place usually). Some drunken bargirl was angry with her customer (he had too many girlfriends apparently!) and decided to throw a bottle of beer (full) in his general direction; she missed...I didn't see what hit me. No one gave a sh*t in the disco, luckily I had some friends around who took me to the ER...
I was told that is was not worth calling the thamrouat (police), and I didn't care since I was leaving on the following day. Luckily my training holiday was not ruined by some drunken slut.
I know it could have happened anywhere in the world, but it's too easy to say
"you won't have any problems here unless you look for trouble"...there is a mixture of alcohol and bargirl "politics" ie extreme jealousy (driven by the desperate need for cash of course) that can cause unexpectedly dangerous situations.

When did this happen? Was it at Laguna mid July? I think I was there...

you can get a decent room for less then 500 bht.

i don't know much about work in thailand for guys like you who can't speak thai.
i worked in the hollywood nightclub, motown, and 40 bar,and offroad, shit money but the amount of women i picked up made it worthwhile.
if you can't speak the language you don't want to do door work.
backpackers hostels probably have jobs on there walls, handing out flyers and stuff.
other then teaching english or pe teachers theres not a whole lot.
you could sell drugs, many farang do well in thailand.
they will even set you up with free room and board in a nice cell with 70 new friends.

is motown still open? used to pull some genuine young sluts from there

Where can I find rooms for this price? In phucket I can't find any for much more or less than 1000 baht, then in the high season the prices sky rocket to 1800ish baht. Is 500 the thai price or can us white guys get room that cheap in phucket too?

Also would you say it's beat to stay out one camp for 6 months so you get to know your trainer really well and all the guy sat the gym and only move if you don't like the training or is it best to move around during your stay and try out different gyms?

I'm thinking about visiting a few gyms for my first week, then settling at one.

I paid about 380 baht a night for a nice room and a POS motorbike at Green Valley Resort behind 7/11 around the corner from Sinbi.

How the hell did you manage that? It says 850 for a standard room in the low season on there site.

Anyone here write trip reports of their travels and training?

It was my third year staying there and I am good friends with the owner. I helped out at her bar at night also. You can get great discounts by making the right friends in thailand.

motowns still open and still going strong, don't often leave motown after a hard nights work empty handed.

I hope you mean over 18 though rite. Cause i dont want this thread to be closed over :eek::eek::eek:philia.

Aren't 16 year olds legal in Thailand? I'm going to be 19 when I'm over there and if 17 year olds are off limits i'll be pissed. Here in the UK 16 plus is a ok.

Edit: From what I gather 15+ is ok unless you're paying them for sex in which case they have to be 18.

So whores have to be 18, everyone else 15.

15 is a bit young though, you would have to be pretty sick to go through with that, even if it is legal.

Yes, Thai women really mature in that one year gap from 15 to 16. It's a magical process with gnomes and fairies-there will be so much mist you would have thought someone dropped a ton of dry ice as they emerge from the pupal stage....

in my village i have seen 2 14 year olds marry, even a 13 year old girl marry a 14 year old boy.
but the villages are a law unto themselves.

Hey you've got to draw a line somewhere or else you can just keep saying "well it's only one more year, what does it matter?"

I draw mine at 17.
