UFC 102 Sunday Night Sukhumvit Soi 13. Hosted by MMA/Muay Thai gym Boxer Rebellion. Sukhumvit Suits bottom floor.

I know some of you have seen this but most of you have not. Here is a great video about Thai food, culture, and it even has some muaythai. Near the end of the video Anorak's (Rob Cox) gym is featured and he has a brief appearance also. Enjoy Sherdoggers.

this made me love Thailand even more.

Awesome. I hope Jared didn't beat him up too badly.

I've slowly been getting back into no gi; drilling without rolling yet for the next month or so while I slowly bring my shoulder back "online." I've been avoiding the gi though.

Thats very cool!

One of my training partners was at your gym a week or so ago when he was visiting his father in NJ. He was a skinny kid names Tariq, trained BJJ.

Hmm..another ones Payak. Should there be a fight, should or under what circ umstance you shld ccall the police? And do bystanders usually call the police for you?

Where I am from, if you are in the right, you should call the police because they are efficient. And usually if someone sees a fight they will too. But then my home country is a first worldone with harsh laws and little corruption.

Becareful calling the police in Thailand unless you are friends with a high ranking officer it or government official.

Question: I cant train any kicks besides frontkicks and lowkicks. Will this be hard to explain to the coaches?

call the police for what.
we don't go near police they are criminals.
last time i had a fight i had to pay police 10000 bht to let me go.
it went in his pocket then they let me out of the car.

So are you saying, if we, say, get mugged or someone just comes and beat up us for no good reason, we should not bother to call the police too?

no i'm not saying that.
you can call them and they will come and assist.
not much they can do about it,someone whips your ass will not be reason enough to start a nation wide manhunt.
police don't get payed enough to give a shit.
we just deal with our own problems.
you won't have any problems here unless you look for trouble.

What you may find is that the police will side with the Thais easily. As already mentioned in a fight, they will usually side with the Thais.

Who you can try to call is the Tourist Police, they are a special unit made for tourist. I dont have any personal experience with them, but on paper they should be more helpful and talk english.

When I lived in Thailand I heard a nice one; If the policeofficer got old shoes, he's an honest cop.. :)
