im confused by some of the rules. whats up with the golden score round?
also it seems like a lot of players are stalling. just going face down and guarding their necks. is that common in high level judo?

No more time limit in golden score. Was intended to encourage attacks..first to score wins...or gives time for someone to get 3 penalties and get DQd

Lots of metagaming if someone has multiple penalties....

Sadly common at the top levels anymore...this is why you don't want BJJ or MMA in the Olympics.
 
I wonder if it takes Roman this long to get to the dinner table

definitely. there's still been some really exciting matches but some of the flopping has been annoying. also, are leg takedowns no longer allowed in judo?

Sadly outlawed about 10+ ish (?) years ago to make things more exciting and distinguish judo from wrestling.

Funny when I do BJJ and the guys who don't know me try to shoot and get stuffed, or get ankle picked...I started judo when that shit was legal....and I wrestled before that.
