Speaking of touring NBA/NHL arenas. WWE tours those arenas. For a couple years before COVID WWE was averaging 4,000-5,000 in attendance in 15,000+ arenas, tarping off the majority of the arena.

A couple of weeks before COVID I had the chance to go to Smackdown for $5 in a tarped off arena. They couldn't even sellout with $5 tickets in an arena tarped off for 4,000 people.

Has WWE not broken through to a large audience? <Lmaoo>

Is Bobby Roode gonna win them the night? <Lmaoo>

Every show on TV has potential to grow, that's why networks take chances on them. But to suggest they will only grow with former WWE guys like Bobby fucking Roobe coming in and beating their home grown talent is hilarious.

Yes they get beaten by NBA games, but they also beat NBA games. They also beat MLB games. They also beat NHL games. Yes they get beaten by Real Housewives, but Real Housewives beats everybody. Losing to one of the biggest shows on TV doesn't mean they haven't "broken through". They've definitely broken through, that's why TNT has gone all in on them. They've also broken through with guys like Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy getting significant TV time, TNT themselves promote the fuck out of those guys also. They're ain't pushing them for no reason just to discard them for someone like Bobby Roode or whatever WWE guy you personally see value in.

I think Bobby Roode (or equivalent) will be a lower mid card guy who clears out some of their current talent after the show gets more popular by acquiring and elevating better talent than they currently have on the roster. Not because he’s some great talent, but because he’s proficient at wrestling for television. If I said Finn Balor, would that hurt your feelings less? They’re equal as talents and draws, so use them interchangeably.

Real housewives is on constantly, losing to that is a fixable problem. I can recall home grown talent jobbing to bubba Rogers, John tenta, or later Mr Anderson and bully ray. These things happen, since they’ve got guys with low ceilings on the show now.

Former Universal Champion, top merch seller, main stay near the top of their card for years, Finn Balor is an equal draw to Bobby Roode? <Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo>

Do you watch wrestling?

Look at that respect for This Business

I want to see a program where Dana starts getting attacked randomly off camera, like Enzo a few years ago. But then the eventual reveal is Sonya attacking her for stealing her girl. And that's what all the anger at the Otis thing was - not jealousy of Mandy's popularity/success, jealousy that Mandy didn't love her back.

Darby is gonna be a star. They're already building his cross over appeal, they got him cutting promos with Tony Hawk and JPEGMAFIA. Darby has been featured more than probably anyone in the company since Dynamite started, even when he's not there live they almost always have a video package with him and they've already had him in two World title Main Events where he took both Jericho and Moxley to the limit. They ain't doing all that for nothing.

Darby is over with LTR. The last indie darling that didn't look the part that LTR chose went on to beat Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (and Big Cass for some reason) on the very same night to become the greatest WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion of the World of all time and, of course, our American hero.

I was surprised not to see more discussion of this:

https://www.mmafighting.com/2020/10...indicted-on-kidnapping-sexual-assault-charges

Former WWE star and Combate Americas executive Alberto Del Rio has been indicted on sexual assault and kidnapping charges after his arrest in May.

Del Rio, 43, faces four counts of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping five months after he allegedly beat up a female partner in an attack that reportedly stretched over 16 hours between May 3 and May 4, according to NBC affiliate News4SA. The Bexar County (Texas) District Attorney’s office confirmed his indictment on Friday morning; the former wrestler and MMA fighter faces between five and 99 years for the kidnapping charge and 2 to 20 years for each sexual assault charge.

The woman accused Del Rio of slapping her several times and sexually assaulting her while restraining her hands with boxing straps; she said he also stuffed a sock in her mouth, leaving her unable to breathe. She documented her injuries with photos and an officer on scene observed bruises to the woman’s face, neck, arms and legs. The woman told police Del Rio attacked her after she denied an accusation of infidelity. She said he also threatened to “drop him off in the middle of the road somewhere” if she told anyone about the assault.
