I'm having some weird de ja vu here.
I'm having some weird de ja vu here.
As bad as this is, it was only a drop in the bucket of the merger. In 2002 they posted a 98.7 billion loss, the biggest of all time. They lost 55 the previous year. WCW was a failure, but it was like fretting over nice silverware on the Titanic. Turner actually thought they were doing WCW a solid by giving them 2 million a year to produce television.WWF's end of fiscal 2001 report (released 7/28) notes that all of the intellectual properties and assets of WCW including the trade name, tape library and other intangible assets were sold by AOL- Time Warner for a staggeringly low $2.5 million.
This is despite an offer from Bischoff/Fusient Media Group for $48.3 million, just days prior to the sale to WWF.
The Fusient offer included a $5 million deposit - so, even if the deal had collapsed, TBS would have picked up double what they've now got from Vince. Moreover, Fusient had agreed to take over every contract - relieving AOL-Time Warner of more than $15 million in salary payouts.
Instead, as thing now stand, Time Warner will be paying Goldberg more in one year than all the money they got from the sale of WCW.
Brad Siegel was buddies with Stu Snyder (president and COO of WWF at the time).
Doesn't matter though, still put butts in the seats and eyes on the product.Pretty sure that's according to anyone watching, particularly now since that's where the B&V reviews are at.

As bad as a historian as Bischoff is, he was great at running a wrestling company. He had several great ideas, managed talent expertly, and was a huge part of wrestling's last golden age. There were two mergers that screwed him, first Turner being bought by Time Warner (who wanted WCW in 1998 to be WWF in 1984) who only bought his properties to form an ultra merger with AOL (who didn't want wrestling under any circumstance).
As an aside AT&T actually has formally acquired Time Warner for only 85 billion in 2017.
Yeah, the Time Warner thing in the summer of 98 really hurt WCW because now they had S&P to answer to.As bad as this is, it was only a drop in the bucket of the merger. This all sounds like someone else here in the pwdIt's awesome reading 99 Observers because the in-ring product in the WWF was "awful, just awful" according to Big Dave yet it's still doing monster business. It's like it really bothered him personally. The dude HATED Sable and apparently doesn't like big titties either.
I mean, the ratings and profit numbers don't lie. This all sounds like someone else here in the pwd

@Dusty Rhodes show is some sign of life
I know that man worries me.He's running hard and heavy.
Listen I take my job as press Secretary of@Dusty Rhodes give your mother @lakersfan45 a call. She's worried sick about you, mister.
Send Nia packing with Cass.
That idea makes too much sense for WWE to do it.I say team her with the Usos and Roman in a heel stable. Maybe even Naomi and a cruiserweight too. Have them across all shows and not "play by the rules/brands".
Roman's a lot better than people give him credit for and they need to change it up with him last month.
