I didn't even think about the old ECW guys as surprise entrants. I just earned some more points in my betting pool, I reckon!
 
On my 01 wwe viewing finished the build to no mercy, that had a slow start but hype went into overdrive two weeks out from ppv. The first two weeks had rvd be the defacto alliance leader in Austin absence, austin return and reclaim title from there the main event build pick up rapidly.

The quick rise of rvd has been an highlight in my 01 viewing and the best thing to come out of the invasion angle. Rock/jericho only got 10 day build in quick time the fued got established and jericho is slowly turning heel as I know come his world title reign in 01-02.
 
Hoping the rumble is a good ppv, 2 rumbles, 2 tag titles and world title matches be the most match time in a ppv for long time. Outside of the rumbles, usos vs Benjamin/gable is match of night potential. Kane/bruan/brock could be bowling shoe ugly and aj vs sami/ko not sure considering how disappointing the ko/aj ppv matches were.
 
seen kenny omega got kicked out of the bullet club the other day. any chance he shows up in the rumble?
 
Totally forgot ufc last night but it’s in my DVR. Is it any good
 
Goddamn this has already been an amazing wrestling weekend and we still have the fucking Rumble left.
 
Gargano and Almas cannot have a bad match. That was a really good match with a really hot crowd. Glad Ciampa showed up too.
 
NXT thoughts...

UE vs AoP was great. Good psychology. The ending actually had me thinking it was a fuck up at first until I remembered the leg was hurt. Real clever ending. Good stuff!

VD vs. KO was pretty meh. I know KO is a fat fuck but I've seen more impressive stuff than what they were trying. KO also looked visibly upset after they fucked up the first DVD spot, but also, you could stand to lose a little weight. The flying elbow by landing feet first also bugged me.

Ember vs. Shayna was fine.

Black vs. Cole was great. Really showed me how amazing Black is, as I only watch the Takeovers, and this is the second straight awesome match he has had, the last one being against Velveteen, who was significantly less impressive without Black. Kind of gave away the ending to the main event for me

Main event I won't say much about. Amazing amazing amazing, but that fucking guy in the front row with the sunglasses ruined it for me because I could not stop looking at him... He was either wrecked or peaking on acid.

Good show overall.

Shane Douglas, Terry Funk, Eugene, Val Venis, John Morrison, Rey Mysterio would be surprising. You'll probably get a Dudley boy, and RVD. I wouldn't mind them bringing Khali out to stand toe to toe with Braun for a minute, but that dude's torso would probably just tear from from his legs if he tried to go over the top rope at this point.

Good to see EC3 come back with that gimmick. I saw a little bit of him in TNA, and was quite impressed.
 
Need to hulk up from this hangover to be ready for the rumble brothers!
