When Omega first went to Japan, his first opponent (and then tag team partner) was Ibushi. They became the Golden Lovers (and certainly played up to the name) and were a very popular indy tag team in Japan. They had a great run as a tag team in DDT and even beat Balor and Taguchi for the IWGP junior tag titles.

Eventually they broke up around the time Omega was leaving for New Japan full time, and they had an amazing match at DDT's biggest show to date, drawing their biggest attendance which I think was 10k people which is huge for a very small company like DDT.

Since then they have had very little contact, aside from when Omega reluctantly distracted Ibushi during his title match with AJ, helping AJ retain the title. Bullet Club celebrated but Omega looked very sad at what he had to do to his old friend prove his BC loyalty.

After that Omega has had this meteoric rise from Junior to now being the head of the BC and one of the hottest wrestling commodities in the world while Ibushi is coming off a stretch in the CWC and NXT, returning to New Japan to finally reach the level he was always destined to, with his old friend standing in his way.

Thats kind of a brief summary but that is the general gist of the story.

also when Kenny lost to Okada, again, he saw Ibushi in the hallway and Ibushi wanted to help him but Kenny rejected him. Kenny didnt know what he really watned then.

its a great storyline for professional wrestling in the year of our lort 2018

i want to see Nakamura win, him and AJ at wrestlemania unchained for like 25-30 minutes would be awesome. id love for anyone surprising to win, id would be hella cool if Ziggler won, imo, bc the story would be really really good potentially given where his character was/is at. even longer shot, big rusev

I think they might do a passable job with the women's Rumble. Wouldn't bet on it though. One bad thing I could definitely see happening is if somebody in it fucks up their cue for something it'll have a disastrous domino effect.
 
So guys, is 40 too many entrants? Don’t think I saw the rumble before that had 40. Split roster is heavy on both shows right now, so it takes away the surprise entrants. It probably didn’t work out for a reason though


Just now realizing how much of a shit show the woman’s rumble can be
