We had a backup plan in place. 10 minutes after 1000th post, 1K1 gets. 10 more, 1K2, etc, etc, etc. But people just started making them if just no one was.

9/10 times it works fine that way. Just because by chance we've had a handful of times in recent memory (and with the speed we make threads, is it really all that often in that grand scheme of things) where something got messed up doesn't mean we should really change the whole system, at least not out of an immediate backlash.

Maybe we switch it, maybe we don't, but not on the first page of a thread where it happened.

Yeah I agree with this. I don’t care what the rule is but sometimes the new thread is jacked pretty fast
