This is something I've argued with buddies about before. I know a couple of "you NEVER hit a girl EVER for ANY reason !" types, and I do think that is legitimately a sexist stance to have. One of them I at least got to eventually understand my reasoning even if he still maintained his position - but, to highlight our relative positions:

A 6'1", 220lb woman punches a 5'8" 170 pound man in the face. I think it would be acceptable for that man to punch that woman back, whereas my buddy says it's not acceptable.

A 5'8" 170 pound woman punches a 6'1", 220 pound man in the face. I can understand why the man wouldn't punch the woman back, because the size difference makes it unfair. HOWEVER, if he would punch back a man of the exact same size but not the woman then he is being sexist.

Equal treatment means equal treatment, whether that hurts you or helps you.
