Donald Trump’s transition team is considering former WWE CEO Linda McMahon for the president-elect’s future secretary of Commerce, according to a new report.

NBC Connecticut said Sunday it confirmed McMahon’s possible appointment with sources close to the former GOP Senate candidate and Trump’s transition staff.

Trump announced his full transition team on Friday, appointing Vice President-elect Mike Pence head of the new roster.
Pence, who is also the governor of Indiana, leads a group of top Trump surrogates including former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.). On Sunday, Trump announced that Reince Priebus will serve as his chief of staff, while Stephen Bannon will serve as chief strategist and senior counselor.

Speculation over Trump’s future administration is running rampant after the Republican’s shocking presidential election victory last Tuesday.

Trump blindsided the world by besting Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton despite trailing her in national polling averages that morning.

NBC Connecticut said McMahon hosted multiple events for Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) during the GOP presidential primary.

Christie suspended his campaign in February, soon after endorsing Trump and becoming a trusted ally of the billionaire’s.

McMahon ultimately backed Trump as well, NBC Connecticut said, witnessing his nomination for the presidency at the Republican National Convention in July.

The pro-wrestling magnate first entered politics with a failed 2010 Senate run against Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.).

McMahon campaigned as a Republican, eventually spending $50 million out of her own pocket, the most of any candidate that election cycle.

The former WWE executive then mounted a second bid in 2012, coming up short against Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).

Murphy and McMahon competed to replace retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) that election season.

NBC Connecticut added Linda McMahon currently resides in Greenwich with her husband, WWE executive Vince McMahon.

The McMahons have long been friendly with Trump, who has repeatedly appeared as himself on WWE programming.
