Shawn's a more exciting wrestler but Bret is a better worker and Shawns style fit perfectly in the everyone hit your finisher and kick out at 2 and a half Era. He never had as good a matches as Bret did in their heyday except with Bret who brought everyone around him to a new level.

And Taker and Foley and Austin and Bulldog and Sid and Vader and Diesel and Owen and ...

Bret was obviously great, but looks better than he was because he came around during an era with huge monsters that could barely move. See eg, WM 8. Hart/Piper was a very good match, but it looks like 7 stars compared to Hogan/Sid.
