As seen above, UFC fighter and recent Dancing With The Stars runner-up Paige VanZant spoke with ESPN’s Hannah Storm on Thursday and confirmed her return to the Octagon against Bec Rawling on August 21st at UFC on FOX 21. This is during WWE’s SummmerSlam weekend and as we noted before, WWE wanted VanZant to appear at the event.

In the interview with Storm, Paige said she’s 100% focused on her UFC return right now but she would love to participate in anything WWE has to offer, as long as the timing is right in regards to her fight schedule. Paige added that she loves WWE and if they ever reach out again, she would want to work with them but her main focus is the Rawlings fight right now.

Liar, she's just learning how to bump and get ready for that Paige vs GoldBo$$ superfight.

Rumors were running rampant on Monday that Paige was arrested in Las Vegas for some reason. This rumor was based on tweets showing photos of the Total Divas star in handcuffs and being led to an ambulance. The folks at MLW Radio spoke to Alberto Del Rio, who is dating Paige, and he offered his side of the story.

Court Bauer, Mister Saint Laurent and Konnan dropped a podcast Tuesday night and relayed the following account from Del Rio.

After Money in the Bank, Paige and Del Rio went to see a live entertainment show at Caesars Palace called Absinthe show. Whilst there, a drunk couple started heckling them. Del Rio approached security and got the couple ejected from the venue.

The couple approached Paige and Del Rio after the show and an argument ensued. Police were called to the scene and they went through a standard procedure of placing people in handcuffs to calm everything down. Police then took Paige to an ambulance to ensure that she hadn’t been attacked or anything; she wasn’t. Shortly thereafter, Del Rio and Paige were free to go.

At Monday’s Raw in Phoenix, the couple filled in management on what happened. The powers that be told them that they did the right thing and everything was fine.

UFCtards are always with the "fake and gay".

Scott Hall says his current goal is to land a job with WWE’s NXT brand. In an interview with The Whig where they covered his career and personal life, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke on what’s next for him.

“I’ve always enjoyed working with the young guys and I think that’s where I’ll be most gifted and be of the most value,” Hall said of helping the NXT roster. Hall doesn’t specify a job title he’s shooting for, but it sounds like he would want an agent or producer position.

The founding n.W.o. member isn’t asking WWE for a job yet, as he feels he needs to continue to repair his reputation first. Hall says people need to see that he can travel and still “keep [his] shit together.”

“But I figure the best thing for me to do is just to continue to keep my shit together and go places and let people see me with my shit together. When my head is clear, my phone rings and opportunities are presented to me all the time. So I’m just keeping my shit together and letting people know it. I’ll wait and see what comes from there. I’m not going to flat out ask for a job at this point. I’m kind of hoping it gets offered to me down the road. But I figure the best thing I can do is put myself in a good situation by keeping it together.”

Hall also briefly talked about WWE’s upcoming DVD about him, and says it feels real good to be back in the company’s good graces. “It’s way better to be on the inside looking out than on the outside looking in,” he said.

WWE's Original Plans For AJ Styles, Bullet Club And The Kliq Talk 'Too Sweet' Gesture, Nash & Hall

5b3422ecb9de2e9f520c19e63830ce6b_crop_north.jpg

- Dave Meltzer wrote in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer about how AJ Stylesand Austin Aries have changed WWE's perception on the talent that they are signing. It was noted that in the past WWE had little interest in both men because of their look, but Aries' success in NXT and how well Styles has gotten over on the main roster has has caused them to change their mentality on signing great workers who "looked like normal guys." Meltzer also noted that Styles was originally brought in to work low on the cards, and possibly get to the middle, but the fan reactions at The Royal Rumble and even more at live events has changed that to where is now on of their top stars.

- Speaking of Styles, WWE.com has an interesting article interviewing former Bullet Club members Styles, Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, as well as former Kliq stars Triple H and Kevin Nash about the "Too Sweet" hand gesture. Nash revealed that X-Pac came up with it during a European trip, and then they all started to do it. They called the gesture "the Turkish Wolf". Balor said that they call it the "too sweet," which Triple H isn't a fan of.

"The 'Too Sweet' sounds very weak," Triple H said. "Kevin said that now and then, but it's not the Too Sweet hand signal. It sounds weak to me. Can we come up with something tougher to call it than the Too Sweet? We sound like a bunch of goofs."

Anderson revealed that he introduced it back to the Bullet Club.

"It started for sure with me and Finn in 2006, in Santa Monica in the New Japan Los Angeles Dojo," Anderson said. "We were just buddies and would Too Sweet each other for the hell of it because we thought it was fun. Then, as we progressed and moved into New Japan Pro Wrestling, we always did it to each other on the bus. It was part of our handshake."

- Speaking of Nash, he will be joining a host of wrestling stars and legends at at Fanboy Expo's Knoxville Comic Con this weekend at the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, TN. Joining him will be Ric Flair, Scott Hall, Jeff Hardy, Ricky Steamboat, Drew Galloway, Terri Runnels, Buff Bagwell and many others. You can get more details here.

Mauro Ranallo spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated recently about various topics. Here are the highlights:

On SmackDown going live next month: “I don’t know what’s going to happen,” said Ranallo. “I don’t even know if the announcers are going to be part of the draft. I love working with Byron Saxton and Jerry Lawler, and I hope I continue to do so. To be honest, I would love to stay with Smackdown. Michael Cole is the voice of WWE and the voice of Raw. But when we go live, I want to help Smackdown become an ‘A’ show.”

On Vince McMahon: “I thank my lucky stars–the two critiques I’ve received from Vince are it isn’t radio–and I’m aware of that, even in all my other sports,” said Ranallo. “It’s like Doc [Mike] Emrick–I love him and think he’s one of the greatest announcers ever. A lot of my friends don’t feel the same way because he never stops talking, but I just think he’s so creative and brings the action to life, and that’s what I try to do with my storytelling. Vince said lay off just a little bit on the play-by-play.”

“At first Vince thought, ‘Not everything is WrestleMania,’ but I think he’s learned that’s just me,” said Ranallo. “Everything is WrestleMania to me. I go into calling any match, any fight–I don’t care if it’s the main event or the opener–that these guys have put in their work, they’re here for a reason, and there’s a reason I’m calling this fight, so I do want to give it as much attention and respect and energy as I would the main event or a championship fight.”

– WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted his latest blog online. The highlights are below:

On Roman Reigns: “The suspension of Roman Reigns has made the IWC news rounds and by the time many stop discussing it the 30 days suspension will have been served and Reigns will be back at work. I would certainly keep the triple threat main event for Battleground with Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns as there is no reason to penalize the other talents as it relates to the creative plan and where this triple threat main event fits into the big picture. Depending on the monies earned during the suspension period, Reigns could reasonably lose over six figures of income for his error in judgment. For those who recklessly say that Reigns isn’t being punished adequately and should not be “rewarded” for his indiscretions, I’d suggest that he will have paid plenty when all is said and done. My prediction is that Roman will return to WWE and evolve into a locker room leader. I truly believe that Roman will return better than when he left in key areas.”

On the Cruiserweight Classic: “WWE reevaluating their corporate, creative stance on “counterweights,” for the lack of a better term, is refreshing. There is a plethora of outstanding, ‘smaller;’ talents who can and will entertain WWE fans with their unique style of presentation and the fact that WWE is providing new wrestlers for their fans to enjoy. It sounds like a win-win for me as this new brand, as Paul Levesque described it Thursday, has a shot at being successful. Remember this, the biggest money earners/ticket sellers in the pro wresting biz over history have been under six feet tall. That’s a fact.”

On Kurt Angle: “Not shocked that the great Kurt Angle is not returning to WWE but I will be shocked if he’s not inducted into the WWE HOF some day sooner than later as in the next five years. Big time contributor to the WWE brand who made the most seamless transition from the armatures to the pros as any wrestler I think I’ve ever seen and that includes Brock Lesnar, Dan Hodge, Jack Brisco and the Iron Sheik, among others. The difference? Kurt’s ability to flourish inside the ‘entertainment cocoon’ of the genre as well as continually developing his in ring skills in the pro wrestling world. The pure, entertainment component was arguably the difference maker for me. Kurt was a natural and I’m blessed to have been in the signing and management process for the early days of Kurt’s career.”

I read that in his Stuff Hart voice.

They made The Guy sell his entrance like a big deal.
