who'd she take a shot at off script?

I think people in this thread are giving more thought to the Bellas/AJ/Divas title than creative ever has.

who'd she take a shot at off script?

Bella Twins, Jerry Lawler, the entire Total Divas cast for a start when it comes to taking shots that aren't scripted. Nikki Bella tried doing the same back to her, and it was edited out of the show.

That's not counting her public outburst towards Stephanie because she felt she wasn't getting enough money from her merch sales, despite her having the same deal as everyone else.

Then there was the Michelle Beadle farce too.

Hell, the day she retired:

I'd say that it ended up being even as far as workload went.

Bellas and AJ started training in around 2007. AJ worked the independents for 2 years and then got in the WWE developemntal. Bellas started in developmental but didn't do much wrstling.

Bellas come up and are used mostly as managers and eye candy, some wrestling. AJ comes up does some wrestling and managing (Bryan). Both are then transitioned into full time, wrestling every night wrestlers. Bellas leave for a year, AJ stays.

AJ works hard, and then slacks off for the last 6 months or so. Bella is now busting her ass.

Had Nikki busted her ass years ago like she is now, she would have been champ instead of people like Kaitlyn. But in the end, AJ got over, Nikki still hasn't, when you're over and you don't even need to wrestle to get a reaction, they'll try to keep you healthy and less active.

I think AJ was in WWE for less than three years. Bare in mind she is a Diva, which to Vince is a worth as the ring posts, but still she gets to be GM of Raw, be with Ziggler that one time he was world champion, be involved with main characters in main storylines (Punk, Bryan, Cena) and above all else, longest reigning Diva's champion.

Yet, somehow, she still found a way to bitch and complain.

well, Alex Riley is just a bitter dude in general.

Beadle, hardly a class act. AJ was unprofessional, but at that point I think she was in don't give a fuck mode, Punk probably fucked that girl. I'm guessing there's more to it than that.

Stephanie McMahon? AJ was sitting at home, they had her come back in March to do Mania and she retired a few days later. she was in don't give a fuck mode, pretty much retired already. And unlike the other divas, she actually sold a shit tonne of merch, so if wants to bitch about her cut, so be it.

as for her 'pipebomb', the wwe wanted her to do that, just because the people getting shit on weren't told doesn't mean it wasn't scripted. Sounds like Nikki went off script in response, went into business for herself and it got cut.

probably was paid like shit compared to her position on the show. I'm guessing they pay all those divas like shit. it's not like they have anywhere else to go to make more money. modelling? singing? acting? TNA. lol. they have no reason to pay her money, so they probably didn't.

Riley may be bitter, but it speaks about how someone is viewed in the company, that when they retire, people tend to actually say goodbye and be generally reverent towards the person and their career. I don't remember anyone in the company even acknowledging it.

With the Stephanie McMahon thing, they didn't "have her come back", she chose to come back to get a Mania cheque. On top of that, the merch deal isn't non-negotiable, Trish Stratus had one of, if not the sweetest merch deal of anyone in WWE history, she got 15% added onto her merch deal, if she wanted more, she could have asked. It's not for her to do that shit in public.

It wasn't just her version of the "pipebomb", it was also the Slammy Awards too, and whenever she's on commentary, and because they're on live TV, they can't really edit it out.

And, the Michelle Beadle thing, it was at Tribute to the Troops, which is basically "Hey, let's all have some fun". Beadle said to Punk "Hey fuckface", and AJ threw a temper tantrum.

Also that guy Pete Rosenberg who does a lot of interviews so obviously has some connections, didn't hide the fact that he disliked her. I don't know if he ever said why, but was very open in admitting she was quite a bitch and generally disliked backstage.

"Say it to our face" - Brie Bella

Paige also said as much in a Rosenberg interview, she said "Oh yeah, and she's always been really nice", then there was an awkward pause followed by "...well, to me anyway".

Riley taking a parting shot publicly against a colleague as they leave in a passive aggressive backhanded way says far more about Riley's lack of character, respect and professionalism than AJ Lee. No wonder that dude gets buried. People forget, that's a publicly traded fortune 500 company, you don't do that shit, regardless of how you feel. talk about petty and bitchmade.

Re Mania. WWE gives out the spot to her for a reason. AJ was more over, despite being off tv and not having a storyline, than the rest of the divas combined. They made a business decision to put her on there, ultimately, they made the decision to have her come back. If they didn't want her there, she wouldn't be there.

Re Beadle, that's what they'll say publicly, who knows the real story. It's not like they're in a position to say, oh yeah, Punk fucked her 3 months back or whatever. It doesn't benefit them to say more than what has been said. Best for all parties involved that it goes away.

re commentary, it's probably like Cole where they don't mind the shots as they think it adds to the spontaneity of it so they don't edit it, complicity supporting it. If they keep letting her do it, they don't have a problem with it.

just watch Rosenberg interview the Bellas, you'll see why. He's irl friends with them; I've never seen such ass kissing. I couldn't make it more than 2 minutes before turning it off. Normally I like his stuff.

there's no secret AJ isn't friends w/ the Divas - aka Bellas, Rosa, probably Fox. She has said so in a lot of her interviews.

If you watch that total divas show, yes it's a bit scripted at points, but you'll see how legit petty all of them are. I don't think it's some big slight to be disliked by that crew. Divas going back the Melina years have always had a toxic locker room.

Shot or not though, when someone retires, you tend to have people paying their respects, when nobody says anything about it, that speaks volumes.

At the same time, if someone no longer gives a shit, hates the company, hates being there, refuses to do house shows, won't do promotional work, why go back at all, especially if the match is just laying on the outside of the ring for then entirity of the match, and just coming in at the end. Cena does that, there's a shitstorm, and rightly so.

But, it still goes back to who she's dating. People give the Bella Twins all kinds of shit for who they're with, but give AJ a free pass. If it was Naomi going off on someone because they said something to Jimmy Uso, she'd be out on her ass.

Here's the thing though, she actually wanted in on that show, but E wanted Summer Rae instead, she doesn't get it "Oh, you're all sluts and I hate you anyway".

It's like that old quote, "If everyone thinks you're an asshole, maybe it's not them".

Anyways, fuck all this negativity, here's Kofi and Woods playing Madden

some Divas made twitter posts about it. others I assume thought it would be best to keep their mouth shut as it didn't concern them and she has been controversial. Others probably held their resentment within. much ado about nothing.

I think a lot of it is jealousy. All you have to do is see Fox get angry at Eva Marie for training with Kendrick rather than the performance centre, and their reaction when Eva is fast tracked for a push. AJ got a lot of opportunities early in, not just the talk of opportunities down the track. No doubt that jealously played a huge factor.

as for AJ slacking and getting away with it, that's on WWE. It their job to say 'cut the shit'. If she can get paid without brutalising her body, traveling to house shows or deal with creepy dudes feeling her up, good for her. When Kevin Nash was asked how he felt about the Rock having a private dressing room, working part time, being in the main event, etc, he was asked if there should have been resentment. His response "No". Asked why. "Because he can". same applies here. book of Nash - because she can.

as for being out on their ass, they let Cameron get away with a DUI and bribing a cop. I think WWE is just inconsistent w/ their punishments in general and if you're a top star you get away with a lot more, not so much about your dating habits. Hell, the current world champ just had his gf tossed out on her ass last week, fired King's wife. Fired Miz's wife when he was a main eventer.

But, I think this all boils down to the same problem I have with her husband. She got more than most of the roster (male or female), but was still playing the victim and complaining because she didn't get more.
