Apparently La Parka was here tonight but I don't see him on the poster.

Is this the show they were talking about on the radio?

Cool shot of The Great Sasuke vs. Eddie Guerrero as Black Tiger in New Japan in the Main Event for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship at Budokan in 1996

Keep this between us, Beeg. But Gedo wants to bring me in as Black Tiger II. We are just trying to come to a financial agreement.

Eddie was 2, you'd be Black Tiger 9 <lmao>

Rumor is Gedo couldn't afford Okada anymore, that rat son of a bitch is probably gonna try his hardest to nickel and dime you.

Dang it. I forgot it's been CONFIRMED that NJPW couldn't afford Okada. I may have to take my talents to CMLL because Black Tiger 9 isn't going to be shilling Fireball for TKO!

If you work CMLL, Big Tone will probably give you some excellent pay days to lose to his guys on Collision too.

@Stargazer Rex I think it was you that said you liked the movie Sinners

I just got done watching it finally. 5/5 excellent movie.
Yeah, I thought it was great. I took the fam opening day to see it in Imax. I really liked how they tied in some psychology. It looked like they used the Jungian concept of the collective unconscious. The gist of it is its this unconscious "network" we all have access to where we share knowledge of universal experiences, symbols and patterns. The main content in there are the archetypes. And there is a shitload of them. The one the movie explores very well is the artist or creator archetype. This was my favorite scene in the movie:

"There are legends of people... born with the gift of making music so true, it can pierce the veil between life and death. Conjuring spirits from the past... and the future. In Ancient Ireland, they were called Fili. In Choctaw land, they call them Firekeepers. And in West Africa, they're called griots. This gift can bring healing to their communities but it also attracts evil"

They added another spiritual layer to it but that is essentially an archetype and the collective unconscious at work. I never seen a movie capture it so well. Whats neat is you dont need to know any of the shit I just said to make the movie or that scene interesting. My wife doesnt give a damn about psychology and loved the movie. To me, thats the sign of a great movie. You can take it at a simple surface level or go deeper with the symbolism and whatnot.

That scene was great. The movie also made me want to learn the lyrics of "Rocky Road to Dublin".

I thought the end was weak, but it was still great to see a proper vampire movie again. They've had a bit of a drought lately, cinematically.

Wrestlespective dropped a Terry Funk career retrospective yesterday, I havent watched it yet but please allow me to take this opportunity to remind you all that there is no one in the history of this fine bidness that knew how to work the live crowd the way that Terrry Funk did
He could have them crying with tears of love streaming down their face one second and then worked up into a fury of rage, trying to stick a homemade shank into his kidney the next
He was a master of crowd manipulation & psychology, the likes of which we will never see again

@My Spot I'm listening to the Starrcade '89 episode of BTS right now

Kris : "Lex Luger really was in the best shape of his life right here"

O'Connor ; "I dont know about that, Kris, have you seen him lately, he's rolling along nicely these days"

<lmao> <lmao> <lmao> <lmao>

From Dusk Til Dawn with better music.

I'm glad to see you're digging young Larry so much, I suspected you would because he talks so much about maintaining physical, mental and financial health, which is obviously so different from the Bay Area Mobb Music we grew up on, but he does it with a street hustler's touch which is what makes it so dope

Ole Pete never is wrong it seems
