PWD PWD 1224: Triplemania Edition

Apparently there was about 21 minutes of control in the UFC main event. I caught the last two rounds. I like wrestling. My son wrestled 10 years and I count on one hand the number of tournaments I missed but damn that sounds boring and Im glad I didnt pay $80 for it or however much it is these days. DDP has dogshit TDD lol. In the fourth round there was some basic ass defensive wrestling he could have done me and my son were talking about then DC even said something similar. I don't watch much UFC anymore but thats a glaring hole in his game. Things worked out well for him that he was still able to become champ.

It was one of those fights that was extremely impressive, but not really exciting. I find it somewhat fascinating when someone is basically shut out like that, and I cannot remember the last time I saw that happen to a champ. It was embarassing to say the least for DDP.

The two matches before it ended in spinning elbow KOs, which definitely didn't help matters for a control fest either.

Konnan's speech was good but it was in Spanish so you didnt miss much, I guess, some asshole fan kept chanting insults and Konnan was getting angry and going back and forth with him during the speech, using some pretty foul language of his own LoL


The main event fucking sucked


I didnt watch the tag titles match but the best match for me was the opening Bardahl Cup because thats the only match that had the true exciting sense of chaos that you usually expect from Triplemania, although even that was nowhere near the usual frantic levels of the past


Way too slickly produced, polished the charm and charisma right out of it, just like WWE always does with everything they touch

I’m really glad it worked out that I didn’t get to watch cause I absolutely would have and it sounds like it stunk! I would have been hot all day

How did your event go, another dazzling 5 star performance outta the Boss Of Badstreet, The King Of Carrolton, The Swami Of Savannah when it comes to mid size corporate functions and garden parties?

I really think there's money to be made in putting these two together as a comedy tag team, Microman can ride on his shoulders in a little baby carrier type saddle and control Omos to do his bidding and crush everyone in their path


 
I am glad Omos just gently tossed him down to the floor, I was worried for a second that he was gonna launch him into the 10th row like Roger Staubach LoL

Although, that woulda made an amazing visual...
 
@My Spot WWE Vault just put up WrestleFest '88 and I am excited to watch it because it hasnt been available anywhere

This is another one of them huge local house shows that drew a massive crowd to a stadium even though most of us had no idea it was even happening until it popped up at the VHS video store several months later, just like The Big Event did two years earlier

Main event is Hulk vs Andre in a cage to pretty much close out their storyline after 18 amazing months

Plus you got Ultimate Warrior and Bobby Heenan doing the weasel suit gimmick that Bobby used to do in the AWA 5 or 7 years earlier
