PWD PWD 1224: Triplemania Edition

My autistic ass was about to start listing all the different trucks that could be used in wrestling like Bubba listed off shrimp in Forrest Gump.

Beer truck, semi truck, tow truck...
I’d book more tow trucks if I had the pencil

What the most significant difference between a short track and long track beside time, Pete? Let me into the world of racing!

Well, theres a lot more action when everyone is jammed up in close next to each other on a short half mile or 3/4 mile track compared to a huge 2 and a half mile super speedway where everyone is spread out with plenty of room to maneuver

Lots more crashes, lots more tempers flaring, lots more electricity!

Plus, theres a huge nostalgia factor, we all grew up watching short track racing on tv and at our local fairgrounds racetracks, thats what Nascar was built on, all these short tracks that are slowly getting replaced one by one by these new fandangled fancy pants 2 mile freeways so its always nice when they go back to a small track for all the history that took place there

Nascar is really great at celebrating its history so it just feels like a big deal when theyre on a short track filled with all those nooks and crannies from the legends of the past

Thats hecka neat. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like the short track is a nasty brawl in a phone booth type thing. Swangin' and bangin'.

Another casual question. Are there any top guys that specialize in a short track or long track? Or maybe some who specifically only race on one type?

I am assuming that Triple mania being talked about sporadically in this thread will be the most authentic thing about the show.

LoL, actually right now theres an asshole named Shane Van Ginsberg who keeps dominating all the road course races, he was a big star in some foreign racing circuit that ran on road courses so a race team brought him in to be a ringer at the Chicago road course race and he won so they kept him around and now he dominates on all the road courses but nowhere else

For reference, heres our local Nascar track, Sears Point, in Sonoma, as you can see theres a lot more twists and turns than your standard oval track

Looks like from 6 to 2 it can get hairy.

Dale Jr used to be really good at winning restrictor plate races, almost like his plate wasnt as restrictive as everyone elses, but I'm sure thats just my imagination...
