Lapsed Fan did a deep dive on Real American and Derringer wanted to make a 4th of July anthem that would get played at every firework show in the country and net him a guaranteed payday every summer lol

So it's intentionally done to have this big celebratory closing to coincide with the grand finale of the fireworks show. That's what makes it so special and so fitting as a way to end the show with the Hulkster on top, the wrongs have been righted, the good guys win and it feels like an end credits

It also says a lot that it's so much better than Eye of The Tiger, which is one of the greatest movie anthems of all time.

I don't think Hogan doing the pose down to close the show to that song has the same feel at all.

Plus, if Rick Derringer doesnt pen Real American then were stuck with Hulk entering and posing to the Eye Of The Tiger knockoff, Hulk's Theme, which was also used for the CBS Saturday morning cartoon show and that absolutely takes the whole presentation down a peg or two

Its a decent generic entrance song for the 80's, i could see it being used for an action montage for a Karate Kid knockoff or something, but it is definitely no Real American

I bet they play it at Freedom Over Texas

I still prefer his WCW theme.

Rick Derringer also made Demolition's theme song which absolutely played a huge part in getting them over, they were just kinda existing in the WWF as a lame Road Warriors knockoff at first, never woulda made it past the midcard, but then they get paired with Mr Fuji and given this bad ass heavy metal theme that is pure hard driving intensity and next thing you know they are WWF tag champs and a top tier tag team in WWF history

I member I kept waiting for King Of Queens to finally pop up on Get Yarn cause Arthur had so many great lines on that show that could be added to my amazing gif repertoire but it never did...

RIP Get Yarn, what amazing times those were
We had it all and didn't even know it

I like that theme just because it's 80's AF lol. But, yeah, pretty generic.

It's pretty awesome but it's not a get the whole arena hyped type song.

It feels like the song that plays when the freeze frame hits of Hogan giving the thumbs up to the crowd after the big win

@My Spot if you were ever gonna actually has the grapefruits to finally attend a show at Center Stage, this be it!

Dusty's creation in the home of WCW, don't get no more Southern rasslin than that
