Whoever wrote this movie has no idea how to portray old timey characters or rasslin promoters in general, no bullshit, when Im watching it earlier I was reminded of how George & Jerry couldnt write for Elaine because Im thinking "This had to be written by a woman who has no idea how to write male characters"

I really want to like it cause its about old timey rasslin and old tmey carnivals, two things you know Im enamored with, but its just not that good, at least not so far

Theres a new Dark Side Of the Ring episode on right now about someone named Daffney who's gimmick appears to be screaming, I have never heard of this person, I guess she was in the last days of WCW cause none of this stuff looks familiar

Yup. She was David Flair's on-screen girlfriend and would scream loudly during his matches. She had a run in TNA which will take a turn and explain why she has a Dark Side of The Ring

They just showed her slapping the shit outta David Flair and it looks like she was in a group with a bunch of other people Im unfamiliar with, Im assuming these were all the Power Plant guys that flooded that promotion towards the end, they all look exactly alike, 90's Nu-Metal shiny muscle bros

Yeah Daffney's story is really sad. I remember a few of us talking about her breakdown as it was happening and the next day after she died in a PWD thread back then.

So many people trying to find her, but couldn't until it was too late.

Did they bring up CM Punk at all in the show? I remember reading for years about how much that dude treated her like shit and cheated on her while they were together. I remember the day she died he got a lot of shit for posting a generic "ask for help" type tweet after the type of history they had.
 


Adam Cole does that in a dream he better wake up and apologize.

I dont think they mentioned him at all, they didnt really blame anyone or try to make it extra greasy and slimy, it was more about this beautiful soul that was loved by so many but was headed down a road to tragedy because of her personal demons and the harsh realities of her chosen profession

Mick Foley told a beautiful story at the end, he was watching a Forensic Files episode about a girl that was handicapped by a car accident and he googled her name after the episode was over(I do the same thing LoL) and it turned out that she dreamed of being a pro rassler and Daffney befriended her and trained her for years and they eventually had a match at an indy show and Daffney screwjobbed herself and told the ref to fast count her so they could surprise the handicapped girl by letting her win the match, that made ole Pete mist up good

That's really cool and sweet. By all accounts, everybody loved her. She seemed like a really nice person in this crazy messed up business
