Dark Side Of The Ring tonight is on the Sheik Of Araby, its obviously gonna get a lot of buzz cause he was Sabu's uncle and Sabu is interviewed in it but i am looking forward to this one cause I expect there will be lots of awesome old timey footage in it, The Sheik Of Araby pre-dates WW2 and he was still working in the 90's

The Sheik was a legendary traveling attraction and he made millions as the owner of the Detroit territory but he tried to hang on too long and eventually it all fell apart, like it always does

His is a very interesting story, though, hope they do it justice tonight

I watched this last night.

Don't know much about the Sheik but Sabu was quite fond of him. I was surprised to hear him say he had a big mansion in Michigan.

And that fucking piece of shit Joey Janella got Sabu high on drugs then killed him with a shoot Irish Whip!

The Sheik even made his own movie back in the 70's, its called I Like To Hurt People and its a mix of real documentary style footage of the Detroit territory and some dramatic scenes to try and give the movie a story
By all accounts, its terrible, but its a great look at a legendary territory during the height of its glory and its packed with so much awesome house show footage from the 70's, back when it was "real" and crazy in them smoke filled auditoriums

Its a hotel now but it was legendary in its heyday, everyone knew about The Sheik's glorious palace and he loved to show it off and welcome all the rasslers to stay there when they came through Michigan

Theres a famous quote from The Shiek, I forget who else is involved but it basically goes

Wrestler : "Hey Sheik, tell so and so how you lost 8 million dollars"

The Sheik : "I didnt lose it, I spent it"

The man enjoyed his money when he had it and he lived a life of opulence
