@Jonathan Utah I think it was you that mentioned the Dead Hands Dig Deep documentary, thanks again for the rec! I ended up throwing it on my media server and DAMN that was a wild watch. I did not expect to relate to Edwin on any kind of level, but I grew up around a lot of pretty fucked up shit and I met quite a few people with similar stories. Seeing his mom and little brother and hearing their stories, you can tell they all have some pretty deep-rooted mental health issues and just thought "that's how it is", ya know?
