Cena's promo was master class. We always knew it would be gold if he heel turned from his hustle, loyalty and respect gimmick, but Vince wouldn't let him. The ratings could have used it 12 years ago, but it's better that it didn't happen until now, as Vinny Mac would have screwed it up.

I expected a gear/music change, but I like how he justified keeping things the same, being about him, and not the fickle/selfish fans.

There should always have been consequences to fans meming and booing him for all those years, no time like the present, especially with fans still being behind Cody, something Cena never had as a face.

With that crazy hot crowd, and his stellar promo, he couldn't have set Cody up better to come out. Cena's been jobbing pointlessly for years now, this is how you put over the current generation.

I hope he builds a faction and Drew is a part of it, along with some younger talent, like a Ricky Starks/Saints type.

Watching the show now. I loved the energy, but it felt like the wrong location to do this promo. He said the stuff I would have expected. He didn't seem emotionally invested enough. C+
