Yeah, it's basically a "super finisher", the great thing about it though is Misawa only used it a handful of times in his career in big matches where he had to dig deep into the tool kit to win the match. He didn't use it often.

Kenta Kobashi also did something similar with the Burning Hammer.

Those super finishers in All Japan were always a fun time cause they got brought out after a long feud that culminated in a big match.

Recently it's become a good super finisher in AEW as well. Will Ospreay had to bust out the Tiger Driver 91 to be able to beat Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson. Danielson even sold it for weeks. They even did a gimmick where Ospreay got a conscience after destroying Danielson with it. They did a "will he or won't he" thing with ever using it again.
