@Pliny Pete

"Its not Chinese food! It's filipino. I told you to stop saying that!" - my wife

"You are all Chinese to me!" - me

She call you Puerto Rican?

That was a sign, Pete. A reminder that life is short, Roxie is a pretty girl, and that, while we all serve many purposes, the world keeps turning without us. It's good you saw him before he left the world. He might have remembered you and he might not. But you'll remember now.

An old friend from high school's son and one of my friends from the local rasslin scene also died this week, all 3 of them died in their sleep too

The older you get, the more dead people ya know

My friend Robert was there at the Cow Palace when Tonga Kid stole 30 bucks from me, we had dinner at The 7 Mile House before the show, he was an old school fan from the 60's and had so many great memories from the glory days of the Roy Shire territory and those amazing monthly Cow Palace shows
He ran the Golden Age Of California Wrestling group on Facebook which is a great source for the history of two legendary territories, San Francisco and Los Angeles
He was a photographer and had so many amazing pictures that were used in several books about this fine business and he was still taking pictures at APW, West Coast Pro and PPW shows up to the current day

I enjoyed his work and his wealth of knowledge about the SF territory very much

RIP old timer

Having dinner with Robert and rasslin book author Rock Rims before the Cow Palace APW show where Rey Misterio did what he did...

He killed Perro Aguayo Jr at The Cow Palace? I thought it was Lucha Underground Temple.

I kid. I kid.

Red One was better than I expected it to be, decent amount of fun and goofy charm, I really liked the German(I think) mythical bad guy gods, wish the huge polar bear woulda been in it more
Using the classic toys, like the Rock Em Sock Em gimmicks, in a couple spots was a nice throwback to young ole Pete's childhood
Rock was good in his role and JK Simmons always delivers, plus The Waitress is in it
The beach brawl and the big blowoff at the end were good battles and the designs of all the creatures, weapons and sleighs were solid
All in all, a nice fun addition to the holiday line up

Far from a classic but I'll watch it every once in a while outta 7

I really wanna see Mufasa again, maybe I could swing a replay double bill with Wicked before they both exit theaters
Maybe...

Was the score good? Lion King is one of my favorites

No, it was way below what you wouldve expected, no bullshit everytime a song came on I kept thinking the same thing, "Well this aint the award winner either" by the end of the movie I concluded there were no award winners in that film, no classics to be relived for the ages

Lin Manuel Miranda did the music and Beyonce and her daughter voiced the characters so you figure they coulda cobbled something together but I didnt hear it, everything was 90's straight to VHS Disney era quality imo

They were fine songs but just nothing on the level of Hakuna Matata or Circle Of Life or whatever, not even close

Timon and Pumba even meta referenced it in the movie, they were about to launch into a reworded song from the original but then "Oh wait, we'll get a letter from corporate if we do that", made me chuckle

Then they ranted about the Broadway play also, that cracked me up

They were great comic relief again

Looks like the composer is some mark naked Nicholas Britell
<FookIsThatGuy>

He has composed such iconic scores as Battle of The Sexes, Cruella and Free State of Jones
