Globe Life's capacity is listed at a little over 40k. Big Tone has guts hosting a card there.

Yup. I had a good feeling about it. You like those Alien movies? Did you ever watch Prometheus?

I only saw the second one(I think) when I was a little kid with my granny, but I dont really remember it, I know one of the off shoots was supposed to be about seeding humans or some shit with that white alien, thats pretty much all my knowledge of them

Oh, and the stomach alien that they parodied in Space Balls and the "Game over, man" line from the original during the height of the 70's arcade game craze, I bet that popped the theater good

Damn Yota Tsuji v Konosuke Takeshita from today to see who would make it to the semi finals of the G1 was good shit

Have a feeling it'll be a ZSJ v Finlay final

Yeah I really didn’t understand why that line was such a big deal watching it in the late 90’s for the first time.

Guess it’d be like Tony Stark screaming “YOLO!” As he carries the nuke out of the wormhole in Avengers

My favorite quote. Carlin was the man.

I've actually seen this movie...

Same.
Carlin in his final 5 years was morose and nihilistic......I don't think people who use his old bits to fit their narrative will like what he would be thinking today.

He'd most likely be pro orange man so he could fuck everything up lol.

Would be cool if they did something honoring all the Texas legends, the Funks, the Rhodes, the Von Erichs, the Guerreros, Dick Murdoch, Bruiser Brody
Tony probably will. That is one thing that AEW usually gets right.

No All In at Wembley next year. All In going to Texas.
Already being discussed Ozy, pay attention.

Oh for sure. But, I'm thinking he would be pissing both sides off.

@Frank23 Bruce is up his ass sideways with red hot poker over Lex Luger on STW this week. Vintage Bruce. "I was on the bus!" <lmao>

Prometheus had a chance to be a classic. Visually it's beautiful and it could have told a unique story that Alien fans have been wondering for decades. Who the heck is this big :eek::eek::eek::eek:? And what do they do?

Well, they did but it wasn't satisfying. It did drop some neat lore and explained the bad aliens and why they grow so fast and are so diverse in how they develop. But in the movie they never clearly answer why they created us and then why they wanted to destroy us.

If Prometheus told the story better I'd recommend you watch it. Yeah, it's about the engineers seeding human life. They drink this black goo that spreads their DNA on planets hospitable to life(there aren't many planets that are viable). The engineer dies in the process which is very important - self sacrifice. Interestingly, that black goo also can create those nasty ass, wet ass aliens. It has the power to create or destroy.

Prometheus gets really interesting when you look at the original script and interviews with Ridley Scott. From the original script the engineers created humans in their image. They were pretty happy with us for a while. We were in tune with nature and ourselves accepting death and self sacrifice as part of the natural order of things. But then we started getting violent and barbaric. Trying to extend our lives and senselessly killing each other. The engineers send an engineer to Earth or take a child up to their homeland of Paradise(can't remember which) and raise him up with proper principles and guidance in a last ditch effort to save us. They sent him back and we tortured him and nailed him to a cross. This pissed them off for the last time and they target us for destruction. It all goes haywire and that's how all the events in the Alien movie essentially start. They tried to use the black goo to kill us but ended up creating the aliens and getting themselves fucked up.

Pretty neat lore. Except in the movie they never mention it. They hint at a few things but Ridley Scott thought it would be "too on the nose" and left it ambiguous. So, the climax when the humans finally make it to their "homeland" to meet our makers and they wake up the last surviving engineer, he doesn't say shit and just kills them all and it turns into some cheesy horror movie. If you really, super pay attention you can figure out some things, but it was weird that they cut out the 5 minutes of dialogue and explanation of how we were made and why they wanted us dead.
