I will say I enjoyed the Cody promo the other day where they showed the mcafee Cody crybaby podcast and Cody’s first question was like, “wait what are we supposed to do or shove what?” That definitely drove home how silly rock sounds in 2024 telling people shove stuff sideways up their ass

Unless WWE's youtube channel cut out some of the promo, he didn't say any of that. All he said was "The Jazz took their lumps and worked their way to the top" as a way to bash Cody saying Cody didn't take his lumps and work for it and instead he's just asking for a title shot.

It was a terrible analogy, as was the 49ers one right before it.

The Rock's promos were shit when John Cena chopped him up 10 years ago, seems like they're still shit now.
 
Hopefully The Rock doesn't stay catchphrase heavy and get the "cool heel" cheers. This is the character that got people to love The Rock to begin with and they have 2 months to burn. If Cody keeps the majority of cheers after this 2 months of build, the "crowd will turn on him eventually" folks are gonna have a rough go.

He’s probably gonna position himself like Tyson was between Stone Cold vs Michaels/DX in some way so he can face turn out of “integrity” at some point and “ride off” temporarily again…

Just rewatched entire promo, you are really being critical, it was a home run, his analogies about the sports teams made sense, he’s right real life the little Cinderella run or Rocky II type stories don’t happen (often, except in pro wrestling where it’s 3xs a year), he basically implied everyone’s already seen the match and Cody should accept it already, which makes no sense because the other guy to choose was Seth, but in pro wrestling they gotta say the kind of shit that makes people forget about plot holes like that, hence all the insults and Hollywood shit. I think the promo got home and did its job
 
I said the same thing but Rock is also a heel and has to lie to rationalize himself.

My OCD has been getting bad with wrestling shit lately. When I catch something, it instantly bugs me and makes it unenjoyable.

I was roasting the fuck out of AEW on Wednesday in the AEW thread as well with the main event when both guys bladed and I noticed nothing actually touched their foreheads.

Attention to detail shit is bugging me way too much lately.
 
I will watch The Rock promo now and give my expert analysis of it is a good promo.
 
I think the "you're all stupid inbred trailer trash" shtick ain't hitting for me anymore either. Just watched MJF basically say similar shit for several years and he burned that shit out bad lol

The mormon joke was pretty good though "you and your 50 wives will have a story to tell your 600 inbred grandchildren one day" was a good line.
 
It was pretty good. He stumbled over some words but I'll cut him some slack since he's a little rusty cutting promos. The sports analogy didn't really make sense since Cody earned his shot again but maybe he's going for real heat by being a lying, narcissistic heel instead of the cool heel who "actually has a point". Everyone wants to be those heels. Bad guys being pieces of delusional crap who lie to themselves and others can work too. We'll see what happens.
 
Skye Blue had the cheeks out on full display at an indy show tonight.

I've also been a fan of her PAWG tag partner Heather Reckless for a couple years, she has a pretty good IG.

Yeah, it sucks how the fun goes outta it sometimes but roasting AEW is still cool :cool:
