@Pliny Pete I finally found the song that WWE uses for Mid South on the Network/Peacock.

<5>

I was watching the stream earlier and the song they used for JYD in '81 Mid South just sapped all my joy outta the moment, I was like "Oh, this is what Spot is always talking about"

Dog was yoked as fuck then

It really does ruin the moment.

Apparently Black Taurus is actually Mexican Roman Reigns

Thats surprising cause he looks husky in his gear, maybe hes getting ready to lose his mask next year at Triplemania and switch to a new gimmick of a swarthy Latino heartthrob

TIL that Intermittent Explosive Disorder is a real thing and not just something Randy Orton's lawyer made up when he was punting everyone in 2009.

Watts says on commentary that JYD benches 560 here. Work or shoot?

Black Hawk Down

In 1993, Rangers and Delta Force were sent on a mission in Mogadishu, Somali to capture two Lieutenants of Mohammed Farah Aided. Destabilizing the Somali government. Rangers and Delta Force were largely outnumbered in the battle and 19 troops perished. For a war movie it was non-stop action and a lot of violence

The characters I liked the most were Eric Bana/Sergeant Hoot and Jason Isaacs/Captain Steele. I found it to be a grade "A" war movie.

He probably has PTSD from his time in the service

30 years ago today, Slick Ric flair stepped in to replace Sid Vicious against Big Van Vader at the 10th anniversary edition of Starrcade after Vicious got fired for sticking Arn Anderson with a pair of scissors

Side note : This is @the ambush 's favorite Ric Flair match ever

To continue the holiday movie binge I stumbled across Death Before Dishonor (1987) with Fred Dryer/Gunnery Sergeant Burns. In a remote Middle East country, two Marines are kidnapped from a Marine Corps Embassy detachment. In wake of the kidnappings, Fred Dryer/Gunnery Sergeant Burns tracks the location and launches a rescue. Brian Keith/Colonel Halloran is rescued. In the movie the U.S. Ambassador panders too much to the host nation and is portrayed as a reactive dope. It is kind of a forgotten 1980's movie and better than I expected

During an interview with the Steve & Captain Evil, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg said the following about Vince McMahon…

“Vince is like Dana White. He’s the big boss and he makes everything happen, and in all honesty, he gave me the opportunity to put my wife and son on the front row and gave me the ability to perform again in front of them. So, I owe him everything, until we went to Saudi Arabia and he asked me to put Roman Reigns over, and I had COVID.

I remember calling him from my house and said, ‘Listen, here is the deal. I’ll do it if you give me a retirement match.’ I did what he asked. As a performer, I was 56 years old. As a human being, you’re conscientious about how you look in a bathing suit, especially two months prior to being in that bathing suit, you couldn’t work out because you had COVID. I put myself in a horribly shitty situation to get what I wanted to, but to satiate him and give him what he wanted. Problem is, he never held up his bargain. Vince is a piece of shit as far as I’m concerned.”

DAMN

WWE should give Goldberg his retirement match against Charlie Dempsey on Main Event

The pre match promos showing the family man Flair and hugging them goodbye as if he was going to war were excellent

@RollSonnenRoll what did your sister think about the movie?

@Stargazer Rex how bout your wife, did she get into the emotional rollercoaster?

Did your sons watch it, was it too slow for them?

After the move she's said it was, "so sad". But she still liked it. She really liked the end with the picture of the family. My boys liked it too. They thought the actor who played Ric Flair sucked!
