Emperor (2012)

At the conclusion of World War 2, Tommy Lee Jones/General MacArthur becomes the Supreme Commander of occupational military forces in Japan. Tommy Lee Jones/General MacArthur tasks Matthew Fox/General Fellers to investigate if Emperor Hirohito should be charged with war crimes or not. In the meantime, Matthew Fox/General Fellers had a love interest, Aya that perished during the war.

It is divided 50/50 as a political and love film. I liked how from beginning to end everything in the film had an old, 1940's look to it

Rumor and innuendo is Rick Rude told his swearhog of a mother to put water in his baby formula

Watched this new Paul Giamatti Christmas flick last night and enjoyed it very much
He plays a strict old curmudgeon of a teacher at a New England boarding school in 1970 that gets stuck with a couple unlikely cohorts as they go on one of the most memorable Christmas adventures of their lives
Its directed by the same guy that made Sideways which is Giamatti's best work ever and he gets another great performance out of him here
Its an indy character piece full of dry humor and broken people trying to rebuild themselves so its not gonna be for everyone but if youre in the mood for a rich, beautiful journey of emotion over the holidays(Ole Pete even misted up at one particularly sad moment) then you may wanna give this one a shot
6.2 Thumbs Up Outta 7

Few days ago I was pwning some noob in the War Room and I made this post right here

Literally none of this changes the fact that you were wrong in your assessment, for the record

Onward came out 6 days before the world shut down so we cant really blame that on them

Soul, Turning Red and Luca were dumped to streaming because Bob Chapek was trying to pump up Disney Plus and he chose to do it by destroying Pixar, so thats not really their fault either

Lightyear was garbage and they deserve all the heat they get for that one

By the way, Soul was a beautiful film and its a shame it didnt get the full big time major movie roll out that it deserved

Turning Red was really good too

Both of those movies had a good shot at being hits if they wouldve got handled correctly, its a shame they werent

Now its just been announced that Soul, Turning Red and Luca are getting full theatrical releases next year
Looks like even Hollywood has heard about the hottest young business mind in the game and are now turning to me for ideas
Dont worry Bob, I'll have dat House Of Mouse turned around in 6 months!

One of my all time favorite non rasslin books is Disney War, about Michael Eisners 20 year run at the top of Disney
Its such an amazingly detailed behind the scenes look at one of the most successful film studios of all time and how it almost went completely outta business through a series of terrible blunders in the 80's and 90's, while also creating some of the most beautiful and successful films of all time
So many surprising twists and turns in this story, really great read for anyone that loves dem some deep dive nuts and bolts

My favorite part is how they coulda had Pixar for a couple million bucks but passed and then later paid billions for it

That sounds awesome. It’s really wild to think about how they weren’t that big of a company in our lifetime and now they damn near run the world!

Will this young lady and The Pebble headline a Summerslam one day for a time is flat circle match? It could happen
