Watching that Wrestlespective MTV doc right now and hes talking about how WCW had an MTV champion and they had a live tournament on MTV that turned into a disaster cause it was outdoors in a rainstorm
I do not remember any of this
It was bad. An absolute downpour they couldn't work in and roughly 100 fans
Excellent excellent decision@moonwolf I made an executive decision and took those chicken thighs, corns and squashes that I was gonna throw on the grill yesterday and tossed em in a pot with herbs and spices and several of those jalapenos that I still got from last month to make a big pot of caldo instead
Its gonna be in the 70's all week, ole Pete needs to be prepared for that kind of treacherous weather
And he gets to watch Iowa's offense on Saturdays. #HardTimesThe Bears just got their ass handed to them by Baker Mayfield so I bet so!
The failed NBC deal in 98 is one of the biggest what-ifs for me with WCW as well. Seeing them get 3 primetime specials on NBC over Vince would have been surreal. Supposedly it was basically done in principle with the timeslots and dates green lit but Turner execs botched it.He mentioned something called Snow Brawl in the doc also
What a rich history this business has

Yes, NBC needed primetime specials and they liked the familiarity of working with Hogan again plus concerns over WWF's content. Bischoff's story has always been a combination of the NBA lockout ending and Time Warner corporate politics sabotaging the deal. They were going to do specials on New Year's, Valentine's day and Wrestlemania weekend. Was that when the NBA went on strike, I remember reading something about that a long time ago
