Let my people go, brother!
I take great amusement in Bret's neverending salt towards Goldberg but I really don't think it's healthy for him anymore. And besides, one shoot kick did in your dome? Could've done that vs Shawn for less money and more stars, amirite?
And Bret refusing to lose the title in his home country. Montreal is over 2200 miles from Calgary, that's like HBK refusing to lose to Sid a year earlier in NYC because it's his "home country." <Lmaoo>I take great amusement in Bret's neverending salt towards Goldberg but I really don't think it's healthy for him anymore. Goldberg is still making millions because unlike Bret he was an actual draw. If the Saudi marks actually gave a shit about Bret they wouldn't care if he only appeared and gave a promo. That severe concussion could have been the straw that broke the camel’s back after two decades of wrestling and have even lead to his stroke which still debilitates him daily. Let’s ignore that though because who knows for sure if the kick caused it.
At minimum, the kick cost him about $5 million. He had an extension for 2 more years when he was released. Not to mention, the potential last run he could’ve had with Vince from 2003-6ish. Which I fully believe he would have done. Bret lost millions while Goldberg is still making millions to this day. I’d be pretty bitter about it as well. I’ll let him have this one.
It´s hard to put yourself into another man´s shoes, but I am pretty sure if I´m responsible for giving someone a stroke and cost him millions, if I was in Goldberg´s position I would at least make sure to give Bret a % of one of those Saudi cheques. We all know damn well Bret would be getting millions from those Saudi marks just to have a stinker like the one at WM 26.That severe concussion could have been the straw that broke the camel’s back after two decades of wrestling and have even lead to his stroke which still debilitates him daily.
