PWD PWD 1054: The Road to SummerSlam

What a week in the pwd. Moom turning heel and pere denigrating aew and praising wwe. My friend tried to tell me that we’ve entered a parallel universe a week ago and I laughed it off. Now I’m not so sure

That’s always been the issue with aew. From my standpoint it’s very frustrating that they assume the audience knows the backgrounds and characters of the wrestlers based on their careers prior to aew. Makes me appreciate Vince having all talent come in as new characters. And as moomwolf said a lot of their stories are done outside of their main shows via social media, but it’s all disconnected and through different outlets.

Wwe has been doing a better job as of the last two years with consistent storylines. But some of then really suck. Austin theory and Bobby lashley spraying oil on each other for example (I’m sure rex loved that). Some are good - everything with Roman/ the bloodline, Cody v rollins, the austin KO feud.

Both orgs have good- great matches and it’s really a matter of preference. I’d watch aew a lot more if they developed characters on the main show and interesting stories.

I havent been to Berkeley since the mid 2000's, used to love going there in the 90's and hanging with the street people like Im Jimmy Valiant, watching all the hippies and weirdos up and down Telegraph, listen to an old burn out give a speech through a distorted megaphone in Peoples Park, grab some pizza at Fat Slice or La Vals, maybe pop in to Zebra for a random piercing and then spend hours digging through the crates and posters at Amoeba and Tower Records
I'm a bit worried to see how gentrified its become
