Redefining the paradigm?

Relax Dwayne, you're just an evil Shazam.

That's not gonna work for The Rock, brother. The Rock doesn't work heel.

He'll probably be the "Anti-Hero" Black Adam, or just change the character completely.

I'm surprised Warner never tried to capitalise on the Injustice games, outside of an animated movie that was way too short.

The DC movie casting tends to be bewildering

Instead of a super cocky, crazy conniving freak we are gonna get... Dwayne Johnson in a superhero suit.

This one works really well as it's a character no one really cared about, until now.

Hell, guess the same could be said with almost all the characters from Gunn's Squad. Think it's more of a Gunn thing than a DC thing though, but I really enjoy most of Doom Patrol as well.

The problem with The Rock as a well known hero is the same problem guys like Arnie, Stallone, and Willis would have.

No one watches the movie for who they are playing, they just watch the movie to see them. They overshadow any known character.

Los Lotharios have the worst jobber gimmick of this year.

Snyderverse was going there.

Where Marvel were really smart was hiring guys on the cheap. RDJ was still seen as the Alcoholic Drug Addict, so Marvel got away with paying him $500k. Chris Evans was still seen as the "Not Another Teen Movie" guy, so they got him for $500,000, Chris Hemsworth was a guy from an Aussie soap, so they got him for $300,000.

In fact, the highest paid guy was Terrence Howard, and they sacked him after one movie.

DC just went for big stars right away

I am glad that Ezra Miller has turned out to be a complete fuckhead, so they will more than likely recast him as the Flash

And then they had to pay them almost as much as it cost to buy Warner.

It’s a gift and a curse. We made a decision as a society that we only wanted to see John McClane/ Rocky and Rambo/Well Arnold just being Arnold. They have to be that and we will take nothing else! So yes it stifles you creatively but it’s also a paycheck for potentially decades.

It happens to even the best actors. Anthony Hopkins is Hannibal. I want to see shades of Hannibal in every single thing he does. That’s all you are!

I've never been overly interested in superhero stuff, but I'd have gone for them doing the Injustice route. Especially if they carried it on into Injustice 2, where Brainiac invades earth, and they have to bust Superman out to fight him, but then Batman has to fight Superman to get him to go back.

As I’ve said in the past, I have no IRL metal friends so I usually don’t get to go to the shows I want to go to. Is this the time I finally relent and download a dating app just to find someone to go with me? Is there a southern, metal head Rhea Ripley somewhere out there just dying to meet a long haired, headbanger biker? What a journey we are in for

Just go by urself. Going to shows by myself is one of my favorite things. I can enjoy it from where I want, leave when I want, get as many drinks as I want ect. And I usually end up making conversations with those around me. At incubus and letters to cleo shows I know several fans and chat with them that I met at shows and only hangout with out shows. Sometimes I even avoid going to a show with friends and get a ticket in a different section by myself lol.

when I was listening to the cardigans in 8th grade while everyone else was listening to limp bizkit and korn I knew it was going to be a long life of solo shows.
